Me & my folks were driving though the Sierras on I-80 towards SF on the way down from Idaho on vacation to see my grandparents that lived there . thanks for posting this song i remember hearing it in in the car with my parents in 1978 summer time chicago. i was 11. i was playing it. am radio. the lyrics stayed in my mind. googled the words and found it. technology is great but this is a different world and a different life from then. i hope in heaven we can relive all our happy days.

In Seattle, during KBSG's reign of terror, the only songs EVER played by Tommy Roe were "Sheila", "Sweet Pea" and "Dizzy", when "Everybody", "Hooray for Hazel" and "Jam Up and Jelly Tight" also made the Top 10 (in some cases, the Top 5).

@diapertommy Unfortunately, that WASN'T the case with this particular radio station (the stations it replaced and the stations that we have now are much more flexible), but KBSG was more or less rather severely limited, unless, of course, one lived to basically hear "Baby Love" and "Happy Together, along with a number of Beatles songs. (Of course their play list was quite a bit larger than that, but small compared to the number of Top 20 songs btwn 1958 and 1976.)
This cool song was Rita's 4th greatest hit. It reached #25 in 1978. (U.S., Billboard) My very favorite by her was "We're All Alone," but this one is definitely next. Her other bigger hits were remakes, but Rita improved anything she touched!
