If this whole 'Twisted metal tournament is a dream thing' could explain it, it being that its a dream. That could allow both personalities to be in the same place at the same time.
@Tanacity Paprika was about bringing the dream world into the real world, Inception was about a bunch of complicatedish stuff that boiled down to action sequences set inside of dreams. This is very different from both of those. :v

Marcus Kane who a been a terrible car crah he awakens in a dark, twisted world. Wondering , where he is at, he finds out their is contested called Twisted Metal hosted by the disfigured Calypso. The only way he could leave this twisted world is to win the contest and get his prize. A wish from Calypso.
Minion in TM3 was a demon or something, a cartooned dumb down 989 studios version.. The only time Marcus Kane was minion, was in black and he wore a skinned goats mask over his face I guess to signify the fact that he was satanic.. however when you decsipher the codes while playing through the game with minion I can recall one of the codes saying something along the lines of everything just being sweettooth's dream and that it wasn't real. And also that they are indeed the same.

Sweetooth's name is Needles Kane. If you ignore Head-On's storyline, there's also the possibility that he also dreamed up Black; not as Roadkill but this time as Minion. If you decode Minion's dialog on the loading screen before the fight with Warhawk it reads, "In the real world my name is Kane".
Since Marcus Kane has dreamt up the contest before, one has to guess that it could be only him they are referring to. (Which also makes him the only connection to the "original" arc)
you cannot ignore Head-On's storyline. It has been officially announced that the progression of Twisted Metal goes from TM1-TM2-TM:HO. Yeah TM:B is Marcus dreaming about Twisted Metal and Minion is himself (whom he apparently sees himself as being a monster of sorts).
Yeah, I know Head-On is cannon. But it still shouldn't factor into my theory since Black is in a separate universe [or dream].
Considering Black predates Head-On by 4 yrs, it is a possibility that was what they were aiming for before they decided to make him an alter-ego of Sweetooth, who knows ^_^

If you guys want my personal opinion the upcoming twisted metal will be either a re-imagining or a direct sequal of twisted metal 2.

@skatafario not brothers, same guy.. they (used) to be brothers.. sorta.. till the story in TM:Black and Head-on Told Different. TM3-4 don't count cause the original team didnt work on those games. so Black and Head-on Took up where they left off back then with 2. so yeah. Marcus IS Needles (Sweet Tooth) its all in his head. i also suspect that Calypso is ALSO sweet tooth (notice in TM:Black Calypso is blind in the same eye sweet tooth is?)

It's because if you follow all twisted metal and their storylines, it's all in Needles head. His insane and none of Twisted Metal is real!!! All those who died during the contest died in vain. Sweet Tooth was in the Asylum. He's insane none of the twisted metal is real.

@liceolaboin well, Marcus is actually Needles Kane also, they have said twisted metal is all in sweet tooths head a few times (in black and head on, which is the closest to being the REAL TM3 we will probably ever get) lol.. either way i think in TM2 they hadn't figured it all out yet of what they wanted to do with the series. but now they do. who knows.. i still love the series more then any other though, i mean fuck ill take TM anyday over like, street fighter or whatever. it OWNS

Sweetooth's name is Needles Kane. If you ignore Head-On's storyline, there's also the possibility that he also dreamed up Black; not as Roadkill but this time as Minion. If you decode Minion's dialog on the loading screen before the fight with Warhawk it reads, "In the real world my name is Kane".
Since Marcus Kane has dreamt up the contest before, one has to guess that it could be only him they are referring to. (Which also makes him the only connection to the "original" arc)

you cannot ignore Head-On's storyline. It has been officially announced that the progression of Twisted Metal goes from TM1-TM2-TM:HO. Yeah TM:B is Marcus dreaming about Twisted Metal and Minion is himself (whom he apparently sees himself as being a monster of sorts).

Yeah, I know Head-On is cannon. But it still shouldn't factor into my theory since Black is in a separate universe [or dream].
Considering Black predates Head-On by 4 yrs, it is a possibility that was what they were aiming for before they decided to make him an alter-ego of Sweetooth, who knows ^_^

i agree with u on that there the same but marcus gets changed in twisted metal:head on and turns into sweet tooth but his changed his name from marcus to Needle's Cane like if they were twins.

Marcus Kane has a split personality, Needles Kane. They are the same but just don't know it. The evidence is not so much in twisted metal 2, as it is in head on and black. If you guys want my personal opinion the upcoming twisted metal will be either a re-imagining or a direct sequal of twisted metal 2.

Since TM Black is an alternate reality in Sweettooth's mind (meaning it never happened) how the hell is his domepiece on fire in the games prior to TM Black? Brimstone set his head ablaze in TM Black. Since the storyline is technically fictionally, how is Sweettooths head on fire in Twisted metal 2, 3, etc. if it happened in black?

I think in TM3 Calypso did it, but I don't think it explains it in #2.
In TM1 he looked and acted like the Joker, but his head wasn't on fire.

I was explaining what Sweet Tooth was like in TM1 by comparing him to someone he probably already knew.
And any way, Sweet Tooth DOES act like The Joker. Batman was around A LOT longer then Twisted Metal.

TMB is more of a remake, but it tells the story in TMB that Brimstone placed a curse on Sweet Tooth and made his head blaze for eternity.
