Bachmann's is by far the better-Putting them together they look like Father & Son,which makes Hornby's look far too big.

the bachman versions definately look more like the charecters than the hornby ones especially the tenders of both gordon and henry they are the correct shape

Bachmann=Perfecto, squareish look of the character on screen.

Hornby=Rectangular; TOO OVERSIZED! Reuses Bill and Ben's chassis.

I prefer Bachmann.

Hornby sucks!!! The bell is not made​good the face is yellow rather than gray he is very high but the entire model is not square and rectangular =P

From what I saw somewhere, none of those Tobies are in correct scale on HO. The correct scale Toby, from what I saw, was the ERTL Toby.

Trams are small, the upped his size to match the other engines.

@super58173 trams are not that small. Ertl mostly makes 1:64 scale farm toys and an oo scale figure wouldn't even be able to fit in the cab. If you look in comparison, Hornby would be too big for HO/OO but Bachmannn got it just right . no offense

Both are pretty good, but they are different scales. Bachmann is H0 and Hornby is 00. They both run on the same guage of track, but the size ratio for Hornby (00) is 1:76 I believe, and Bachmann (H0) is 1:82.

I have Bachmann Toby and he goes really sloe.

hornby toby is a giant next to bachmann. plus he looks more cartoony. i just don't know what it is but i prefer bachmann's toby face. plus you can't argue with moving eyes. i would have to say bachmann is my favourite but both are very nice models.

Ugh. Hornby Toby is much too toylike. He towers over the trucks, and is even a little taller than Hornby Gordon...! I prefer Bachmann Toby, it's much more proportioned, and looks much more modelly.. that, and the eyes. I cannot get over the eyes :D
