  • For some reason I don't think it is lying that much... It is lying (nuclear fallout lasts a lot longer than 3-4 minutes or whatever it said), but not much.

I think water is a good radiation moderator. Its used in Light Water Reactors (US nuclear) and Heavy Water Reactors (Canada) as both moderator and coolant.

Nuclear fallout does decrease exponentially, but some half-lifes are 1 million years; meaning it will be half gone in 500,000 years. (half-life derp)

  • 4:00 lol they just go back to playing cards after a nuke goes off

  • If you wish to see GOD particle, Higgs Boson see YOU TUBE VK SONAKIA.FIT-Future Imaging tool or Certainty tool technology developed which is GOD Particle in Human body.Based on data in biometric or biosensor of hands where FITtechnology has blue prints of future diasters like earthquake, nuclear radiation, tsunami,Dam burst ,Hurricane, KATRINA , 9/11 2001 WTC Tragedy, 26/11 2008 mumbai serial blast.scientist welcome to see and test FIT

  • Microwave Radiation (The Microwave) causes Cancer. It uses electro-magnetic wavelengths at 25 GHz Frequency. Since it's introduction in 1935, cancer rates has multiplied 10 x's.

  • Hi david, roflmao.

  • So:

-Water is as radiation resistant as steel

-Don't worry about going sterile. You'll be long dead

-Going bold isn't a bad sign, because you can cover it up

Wow, they knew a lot in the 50's :)

  • If they lied to us then, who's to say they're not lying now?

There was propaganda years ago, but that was the past. Therefore, there is no propaganda now. <---Problem with that logic? lol

  • @stephen2152002

Yep, which shows the U.S. have always been and always will be liars until the day/night/dawn/twilight they collapse.

  • ok everybody to make this simple just stay away from the area with bombs

  • pffttt he ses its not dangers at all then shows us a film of a bomb exploding ....yeah just a scraped leg

  • Funny. Comparing the harmless radium from the watch with radiation around and inside of you.

If you try to stab someone with a needle it would turn out impossible but a knife will do the job. This type of propaganda is typical and it hasn't stop today. It just became smarter and mor eye-catching.

  • @MillyVanillification not to mention the imfamous Radium Girls who painted watches with that stuff and died horribly years latter

  • The workers who died for America with this propaganda in mind is really sad.

  • Hahaha there playing a game of cards hear/feel a nuclear weapon go off a think "fuck it, my deal" haha yeah right id shit a brick

  • I did not know there were little elves inside my body pushing and pulling levers, gears turnin

Wow, the more you know !

  • This thing is a tribute to the understatement

    the ultimate symptom, Death

An atomic blast causes a dynamic re-arranging of things.

    the list goes on...

  • I love the guys playing cards, they dont even stop playing when the bomb drops, they just go back to smoking their filter-less cigarettes...lol

  • vault 21 here i come

  • The mutation part is very misleading.

  • TAKE OFF THE WATERMARK OMG.

  • 5:10 looks exactly like a scene in fallout 3

  • so much bullshit

  • love how your government lie to its ignorant people, lol.

  • try asian women #lushfmlk.info#

  • Ahh the heck with that just pop down some Rad X and you will be fine.

  • If you must worry, concentrate on the blast effect of an A-bomb. It's prompt and devastating. It causes a gigantic rearrangement of things.

  • for some reason i have a strong feeling that radiation is a good thing...

  • I love that Goverment still lies.

    Fuck this world.

  • What was that Johnny? Just a nuke son play your cards

  • I feel so much better about nuclear energy after seeing this.

    IM A FIRIN' MY LAZOR!!!!

  • @HandShake44 LOL!!

  • ...and they may be climaxed by the ultimate symptom: DEATH ITSELF!

  • Get rid of that UrbanTV motherfuckery PLEASE...

  • Some of you may have experienced being bombed during World War 2. And you did allll right.

  • When my hair falls out I'm so wearing a turban

  • We must destroy Communism, Socialism, Islam, and Marxism ASAP!

  • @NOBULLSPIN1 Don't forget Liberalism.

  • Right, there was just a nuke that went off but I'm going to continue smoking my cigarette and playing my card game. Ohhhhhkayyy.

  • wow thats funny how the little men in the organs not at all related to the symptoms stop working

  • Remember to reserve YOUR PLACE IN A VAULT!

  • @SacraManga lol

  • Propaganda? Now I know the evil agenda of communist radiation clouds!

  • Pfff! Expensive vaults! Just go hide in the fridge! ;)

  • that game must have been way to important 3:50

  • wtf, no way he just said to look forward to positive mutations, lol I'm gonna be an X-Man!!!

  • Guess I'm gonna have a big bowl of uranium for breakfast then, apparently we only have to watch out for the blasts.

  • I'm a child of radiation! I turned out alright! So I have claws instead of hands, and a giant fishtails for legs, that doesn't make me and my third eye any less than the non radiated guy. Did I mention I have two male tools and 4 testicles

  • Fallout 3 is the best game ever. I got every single acheievement

  • The effects of radiation on my sperm made my kid have a 3rd leg! He is one hell of a runner! You'll see he will be in the Olympics someday! My doctor already signed him up for it, he said he is special and should get involved in the Olympics. He is only 10! THANKS RADIATION! ^5

  • Radium taste good in your coffee! Its science! Don't worry, your hair will grow back.

  • So a bunch of gnomes run my internal organs, huh? I would have never guessed...

  • so basically nukes are almost good for you :D

  • If your hair falls out, wear a toupee, your teeth fall out, wear wooden ones, like George Washington.

  • I'll go in a refriderator cause Indiana Jones did it

  • the "urban rust" thing is totally overkill.

  • ill just go under my bed :)

  • @fxcat123 Hiding inder the bed is what you are supposed to do if the house is on fire. Lay still under the bed with your eyes closed and hope the fire go away. Or was it hide in the attic? Perhaps you are right. Hide in the attic in case of fire, hide under the bed if nuked? Just to be safe, I'm hiding under a bed in the attic in both cases.

  • Hilarious. In the event of nuclear war, I'm definitely concerned with the safety of my hair more than anything.

  • @VesusSheist Agreed.

  • Notice all the scientists studying radioactive materials with goggles and white coats.

    SAFETY!

  • im pretty sure radiation lasts for hundreds of millions / billions of years

  • "...its safe to go outside about 2 min after it occurs..." LOL only 2 mins? more like a decade if you're lucky

  • @wiseye61 actually, after a nuke explosion, if the blast itself didn't kill you, and it did not destroy the building you are in. You would be well enough to get in your car, and if it stars, drive to Mexico.

You also have to consider that in any realisitic scenario we'd all see the war coming.

As for radiation, I'm a physicist, 98% of the average persons fear is based on urban myth.

  • @wiseye61 No, in just about two, to three weeks the area will be clear of contamination and ready to be inhabited again. Actually the radiation decays exponentially pretty quick.

  • @FuckUSAEmpire The deadliest portions of radiation will decay rather quickly, yes. But the area might remain contaminated for decades, even centuries. Keep in mind, that some materials absorb more radiation than others. It might take from two to three weeks just for the fallout to definitely drop but even that is not for sure, as the fallout is taken very high into the atmosphere. There is no real way to tell how long are the effects going to last as there are so many variables.

  • @LaughinGarry Yes right. But since the introduction of the international accounting standard a period longer than 3 months doesn't matter anyone on the market :) Even the half-life of iodine is outside the time perception horizon of todays deluded business men. Leave alone cesium, cobalt, thorium, americanum, uranium or plutonium. Future generations? What's that?

"I'm only interested in two things: Where is the beer and when do we get paid?" (from F. Zappa's 200 Motels)

  • @FuckUSAEmpire Exactly. Between 8 days and 4.5 billion years depending on radiation source and type. And of course on the awareness of the people who should live in that area :) If you know shit you can have a pretty good life there. Multiple cancers doesnt matter so much if there is no doctor telling you about it and no medical care destroying you with chemical treatment :)

  • @wiseye61 10mins before the heat radiation goes away aka when the fireball cools off. Nuclear fallout shouldn't have gotten very far in that time but 3-4 weeks for highly radioactive material to decay making it so instead of sudden death when walking out side if you stay there for a month you'll be a lot more likely to develop cancers.

  • That's it, sit smoking away inside your fallout shelter.

  • in conclusion dont fuck around with radiation and use other sources of energy and weapons so you dont fuck up aour home

  • Were here for only a short time anyway!

  • "...be some place else when it happens."

    BEST ADVICE EVER!!

  • No shit. I can't believe they seriously included that.

    THANK YOU CAPTAIN OBVIOUS.

Under *SOME* conditions that's a hard rule to follow? Wut?

  • The radium treated dial of your watch is NOT harmless =P. Please see your doctor for more information.

  • *KABBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM*

Oh no, NOT AGAIN..... you're cheating aren't you?

  • wait its telling us to comusme or snort radioactive material to prevent its ionising effect?.....were the US gov trying to get people killed in 1950s (if there was a nuclear war)

  • Haha, the cards bit cracked me up

  • this reminds me of Fallout 3 for some reason...

  • probably the silly cartoon with the kid and dad. Looks like vault boy, IMO.

  • I love how the dudes playing cards hear the explosion, wait, then go back. Everything in a 10 mile radius was destroyed. It's fucking glorious.

  • "It's the end of the world!"

    "Shut up and keep dealing".

  • ..think i'm gonna have a big bowl of plutonium for dinner. apparently, we just have to watch out for blasts.

  • mad in theory would still fail. Ya cant KILL EVERYTHING... unless you destroyed the whole globe... and dr evil failed when he tried with a nuke on a giant drill. (thank you austin powers)

  • In fairness to this, even though I'm sure they knew the information was inaccurate, they hadn't studied it as extensively as they have today.

But still. Safe 2 minutes after an explosion? That's ridiculous. I hear 5 weeks is the safe time now. I, a high school student with no significant knowledge of nuclear decay, still think that's pushing it. I'd go 2 months :P

  • Is that Archie Bunkers living room at 1.03?

  • Edith, the nucular guy is here, open the door, would ya? XD

  • nice username

  • HA! so every time i get a x-ray of a broken bone i dont need to put that huge lead filled glove over my junk?

  • Is that nuke footage the part of the castle bravo test?

  • A-Bomb blasts result in a "great rearrangement" That line might be the King of Misinformation- possibly the most irresponsible things I've ever heard in these old prop films- and I've enjoyed many...

  • Prop films are one of my favorite genres. I think this one tops any of the others I've viewed. What they say is just unbelievable. It's deeply unfortunate that these were foisted on the public-what an insult to anyone's intelligence. However, the govnt. would never lie to us. Love the part where they talked about a generation of freaks

  • The film doesn't mention the possibility that toupee makers may be incinerated in the blast.

The best piece of advice in this film is "to be someplace else when it happens."

  • lol i like how the card players are like WTF?........ as i was saying...." lmaoo

  • I like how the narrator uses radium as a "harmless" example of radiation, when all the factory workers applying it were dying from cancer.

  • I like worry vs death sophistry. LMAO.

  • lol i love how they lie to make people fell safer, like saying radiation isnt deadly, of course radiation is deadly in large doeses, unless they mean ten years after the bomb has fell, then it will give you severe burns and a slow death from cancer rofl!

  • could you imagine that falling on you hahaha

  • Why suffer through any of these awful radiation effects?

Why suffer through the horrors of a nucelear wasteland?

    Save your family and yourself

today by signing up for a Vault-Tec Vault!

  • I would sign up, but 90% of the vaults were used for Scientific experiments, and i don't want to end up like Fawkes

  • @evilgamer8

    Vault 101

  • @evilgamer8 or that crazy puppet guy.

  • @evilgamer8 Fawkes was propably one of the luckiest experiments, vault 11 was bad.

  • @KingBlue

    LOL!

  • "it's safe to go in to the area under the explosion about 2 minutes after it occurs." Ummm... no and we know that because there's a lot of dead ex-servicemen who tried it.

  • hiroshima and nagasaki killed over a quarter of a million people...mostly civilians.. the reason given was that a full blown invasion would have been to expensive... today people are still dying from the bombings 60+ years ago.. today we have bombs 6 times the power than hirosima. capable of being felt 620 miles away from origin of impact.. mushroom clouds 7 times taller then mt. everest. burning people severely 62 miles away from ground zero. 7.4 seismic energy yeild. 1.4% of the sun's output

  • Damn.. The world really could have ended at any time back then. At least we'd have warning. nowadays-If the global community is smart enough to realize the signs (my feelings about this North Korea Mess). I swear one photo looked exactly like the area behind Megaton (Fallout 3).

  • ironically nukes saved us with M.A.D

  • bullshit most of you americans are proud of the hirosima, nagasaki

  • not this american

  • proud! wrong!, thinking it was neccesary most do

  • During the Cold War, Russia and the United States built bombs that are 100's of times more powerful than the one dropped on hiroshima. I think you're talking about the Tsar Bomba, the largest nuke ever built (built in Russia). Even Russia thought it was a really stupid idea to build that thing. Something like that would probably wipe out the intended target along with a ton of other unintended targets. It's like using an iron to pop a zit. It's just kinda stupid.

  • "Say! My poker hand!"

  • I think that video just called me ugly....

  • It really scares me to think that the war might come in my lifetime...

  • I've never seen a presentation as ridiculous as this, but remember how much has been learned since the 1950's.

  • 4:00 oh, never mind just an atomic bomb...

  • Priceless!

  • "Hey Fred! Pass me another smoke!"

    *puff puff puff*

  • This is not really so far from the truth, althogh it does spin things in a positive way, the human body is able to repair itself from radiation damage quite well in many cases.

Consider the larger picture: they're trying to quell panic during the Cold War over the potential for an attack.

  • this is hysterical

and scary that the gov't thinks we're so stupid

  • "It causes a gigantic rearrangement of things"

Will it redecorate my living room?

  • mutation is actually beneficial - "if you're honest with yourself, your principal worry should be that your offspring will look just like you"

    !!!

  • This is why the US public is percieved as stupid.

A horrible perspective, but well deserved.

  • Yea, totally. Because no other country has ever used propaganda, and if they did nobody believed it because they were just so damn smart as a direct effect of them not being Americans.

  • I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not... Propaganda is hugely effective! In the USSR (Communist Russia) when Stalin was in power the only reason he stayed in power and was genuinely worshiped by everyone was through fabrication of support through heavy propaganda, creating the 'Cult of Personality' where people loved him even if he took their husbands, sons, daughters and had them killed for no reason.

  • Wow, you couldn't tell that I was being sarcastic? Why would anyone believe that no other country has ever used propaganda? You're a sharp one. <-(Sarcastic)

  • Sorry, I can't tell as there are some pretty stupid people on youtube who would believe such a thing...

Sorry for insulting your intelligence, I was just saying.

  • Yea, I guess so. I can't argue with that.

  • OK, give me one example a point from this PSA which is false that people accepted as true.

Your hair WILL grow back and likely any sterility will NOT be permanent. The fallout from an airburst IS very low.

An interesting example: a single fire-bombing attack on Tokyo in WWII killed a larger percentage of the city population than for either Hiroshima or Nagasaki nuclear bombings.

Yes, bombs are bigger but so are cities and stronger too (reinforced concrete rather than wood and paper).

  • Funny the gamblers go back to playing cards what a happy go lucky attitude during armageddon.

  • Might aswell !

  • valid information can still be used as propaganda

  • reminds me of the "educational videos" from the "Fallout" video game series, awesome.

  • ummm thats because Fallout is set in a parallel future where time stood still in the 50s.

Thus the inspiration comes from the 1950s...

  • and the goyim still believes

  • "With time a mutation could a good variation- an improvement over the parent!"

  • It was a different time, The government had its agenda and controlled the media. Now the Media has its agenda and controls the government.

  • hahaha .. sure.. nothing wrong with a little radiation folks!.. loose your hair.. Buy a rug! I love how the dismiss Nuclear war, like it's just something you will get over in a while, they need to prosecute the bastards who pushed this shit

  • this is just horrific. If they put this out today, they'd be hanged and slashed into pieces.

  • Meh, some of the information is quite valid. A lot of people really don't understand radiation and understand the different types and how easily some are blocked. Heck, most people don't know how much radiation a coal plant emits, nor understand the concept of cosmic background radiation.

The bit about the hair and sterility was pretty dang funny though. If you get acute radiation poisoning bad enough to get your hair falling out, you'd best be worried about surviving that.

  • Dont worry, the man on the video said it will grow back. lol.

  • eehm...trying to talk about the positive facts of a nuke attack..!? yeah..right... typicall...american.

  • "Mutation can be great an improvement of the parent" lol all I can think about is Supermutants from fallout games!!

  • you wanna here how you win a nukeler holocast

    1.don't have one

2.if you have one live concrats you just won

    3.kiss ur ass goodby

  • Have to love the guys playing cards.

    Was that a bomb?

  • ah who cares mac! i got 2 children bet on this hand!

  • "Radioactivity is dangerous, but to say that it's deadly period, is as misleading as giving a flat answer to 'how high is up?'"

  • the scary shit is that I have no doubt that there are still those out there that actually believe we could 'win' a nuclear holocaust.

  • as Potent and Irresistable as the Evil Spirit of the Indians. WTF?!?!?!

  • I feel safer already! :D

  • Que divertido video, y pensar que la gente realmente les creia y confiaba en ellos, es como los videos de escondete debajo de una silla y la explosion nuclear no t hace nada

  • "Be some where else when it happens" good advice that.

  • ya its not obviouse at all eh?

  • Nevermind, i do Feel better, This is a great video, Thanks.

  • "As potent and irresistable as the spirit of the Indian"

  • I love the "harmless as the radium dial on your watch", when those are illegal now.

Screw the duck and cover, I'd rather be fried by the flash than die of cancer weeks or months later. I watched my mum die of cancer and it wasn't pretty. I'll take the initial blast thanks.

  • How high IS up anyway?

  • Just a little bit above down

  • Wow! I feel much better about radiation now! Let's build more nukes!

I really liked the part where the guys at the card table in the bomb shelter hear the sound of human civilization coming to an end above them...and then go right on playing cards. LOL!

  • Im still kinda scared, im a wimp when it come's to death theories,LOL, wish i can feel better

  • It's a good thing. >.>

  • Quite a symptom that: Death.

  • Most people believe what they see on T.V. even now and before...

That's leading to a bad future.

  • Totaly agred ,and alsow the goverment started to use video game's to meke people belive in shit...

  • and they belived that

  • The stupidest nuke film I've seen

  • Just chill in your underground bunker for a few weeks and let the half-lives do their work.

  • WHat is radiation again? u cant be at the same place for acertain time? is there radiation around us or is only in bombs?

  • stars produce all the spectrum of radiation. certain materials do too. but who cares? the video says it doesn't hurt too much and I really trust people in power...

  • well, some places in the world have natural level of radioactivity (no, i'm not talking of chernobyl here:). in one part of my country there used to be uranium mines. back than government said it was okay, but apparently it was not so okay.

it depends also on your resistance. some people can take larger amount of radioactivity and are okay, some not.

  • Bomb goes off and they keep playing cards Lol
