I love my Gravely anyone that talks shit about them has no idea of the versitility switching from 1 attachment to the next in minutes and equally as good with whatever is on it
I wouldn't call that hard work, more like fun. I Think this video is great. Thanks for letting hear the machine and not some music no one cares about.
I dont understand the desire for such a machine vs a ride on. I could have done double the work as the tractor can apply down pressure, angled the blade from the seat and graded the driveway dead smooth all while sipping on my water and havin a smoke. I just dont see the appeal of all the work it takes to control these things and they cost as much as a good ride on garden tractor.
I agree that they cost as much as a good ride on. (more in my case, I got a '77 812 in great shape for $425) now it seems dumb to buy a walk behind for $700.
However, a walk behind is much more versatile and can run many more attachments (which are damn expensive too.)
@sttuppidd Actually the walk behind tractors are very maneuverable and handle quite easily. Not to mention all the attachment that can be put on them. I can tell you that because I own about a dozen riders, and almost as many walk behinds, including two Gravelys.
Always nice to see a vintage Gravely running well like yours does. I have a blade for my 1974 C8 but haven't used it for some time now as I prefer the MA210 blower for snow moving. It too may be retired soon as I have restored a 1983 8179KT rider with a 48" blower and 50" mower deck. You may have seen my vid "Gravely snowblower". Have fun with your machine. Joe
Just goes to show that there is no job a Gravely can't do! Hell, I terraced off part of my hillside that was sliding with my L-8. People who didn't see me do it thought I rented a Bobcat! Nice tractor and nice grading job.
it pushes a full blade of heavy wet snow. it has tons of different attachments, snow blower, lawn mower, earth tiller, sicle bar mower, the list goes on and on
ya, I was woried about that too, so I tightened the bolt on the shifter rod so that reverse could not be engaged. I can only hold it in reverse, so as soon as you let go of it, it snaps back to neutral
Useful "Helper"!

@sttuppidd these are way more versatile than any rideon. Do you know anything about the old gravelys?

Nice. What other attachments do you have for this machine? Would like to see it in action with other implements.

Ever trip over something while walking backwards with one of these? Scary stuff. I always keep my hand on the shift lever
