question? how do u get suck a good image quality on youtube? i have the same camera and the quality is only half as good. i have a dell computer and edit w/ sony vegas if u can help me that would be great thanks.
sorry for the delayed response. I have heard the troubles about not getting sound but I'm not completely sure what the problem seems to be. It's always worked fine for me. The cam does come with a "loading/recharging dock" that has usb output.
I just bought a DCR-SR45, which is pretty much the same except for the screen size I think, anyways, do You convert your video before uploading? Ive tried uploading straight from the camera and also after publishing it as a .wmv from Movie Maker and both times the quality after uploading is horrible! Please tell Me what You did to upload this video with this excellent quality.
I have bought dcr-sr42 but a used one. it came without batterey and dc cable. my question is: how I can move the files from the camcorder to the PC?!!
the camera has such good quality! im getting a Sony Handycam HC52. it has the same quality and zoom, but yours has a hard drive to it,i think 30gb. i really beats the camera im getting.
I agree this camera is not cheep. If you're looking for super video quality it wouldn't be my first recommendation, but I love the ease and power that having an internal hard drive gives you. My favorite thing though is the huge 40X optical zoom. This cam gets my seal of approval despite the price tag.
Standard quality. I have tried filming in High quality, however the exorbitant use of memory did not justify the almost negligible difference in video quality for me.
The original video directly from the camera is 76.6MB, BUT keep in mind Youtube compresses uploaded videos and quality is definitely hindered.
Yes! it has an infrared led on it that turns on when you go to nightshot. Of course you get that classic green vision effect. Although if there is some outside light you can still get "true color".
Thanks for the preview! Had to LOL when I saw the miniature donkey!

I have the same camcorder. I love it! So small and so easy to use. It does take a very long time to download to Youtube.

You need the dock ($65 from Sony) to transfer files to a computer.
QuarterSwede 3 years ago
not really. for it to work with macs you need a MPEG-2 component which is $25 and Streamclip which is a converter because there is no sound.
filmguy91 4 years ago
It works with iMovie 08 no problems.
