  • That feel when Sholazar Basin and Grizzly Hills have amazing tracts and are played in sequence.

One of the best parts of leveling.

  • thank god this is on the list...

being a druid, this one sounded so much like nature, a place of warmth and life, filled with trees, waters, and filled with peace, the opposite of its surroundings (remember, WotLK) which were the cold, frozen mountains or tundras of the dead or damned, trampled on by warring nations, (Alliance, Horde, Arthas' Scourge, Dragonfligts, Ebon Blade, Argent Crusade, etc) , which is why i think i like it so much

  • Pretty atmospheric considering it's from a game with warcraft in the title, :P

  • @electricmastro the game is awesome

  • @electricmastro ignorance, much?

  • While flying through Sholazar, I was constantly tabbing into windows to see if I had some older "Tales of..." track running in Winamp. This was really never a theme that fit entirely into WoW, but it's great and chilling nevertheless.

  • WoW always had a good few decent tracks, and Cataclysm has introduced a whole bunch more, in a more vibrant vein than many of the more ambient tracks. It's worth checking out ^^

  • Soo-Dryskin. Like?

  • This is one of the FEW ones in wow that is actually worth hearing tbh, I always play with music HIGH volume % ambience about 30% higher and sound about 70% lower then music to balance it. Since blizz shoves it so far back all you hear is gankers. And most of it is.....well iffy at best. This one is NOT! I always liked this

  • @MrAgnost ....wow has a ton of soundtracks worth hearing them

  • Though I'm not a fan of the game itself, this is some incredibly beautiful music.

  • will wow make the lich king a boss

  • yes

  • Hes gonna be the last boss in Icecrown Citadel in 3.3

I heard its coming out this month

  • @darkchip1 Most likely you'll be able to face him in Februari/Mars

  • @TheRealVordox lol deathwing is out

  • duh dumbshit in the later patches

  • Man you gotta put the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj interior music on your list, it gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.

  • It's a shame that World of Warcraft's music is so under appreciated. I'm surprised whenever I hear people don't play the game without sound or music, when having both running at the same time can make some of the most epic battles in the game escalate to an entirely new level.

A perfect example of this is Yogg-saron. If your guild decides to check him out again, be sure you turn your sound and music on. It'll blow your mind.

  • I was amazed by WotLK music ( left 1 month before release ) but

I have to say : pre-BC and TBC music made me sick after a few months, I started gathering my own music list from other games to make up.

  • the most spiritual and moving music i have ever heard in my life, truly an epic... peaceful, calming, and defiantly a favorite by millions who play this game, by people who are fanatics of spiritual, calming music of this world... Thank you Blizzard for creating this awesomely epic music :)

  • This track kinda reminds me of Chris Hülsbeck epics on the Amiga. Great song, thanks for posting!

  • best wow theme is the temple of ahn'qiraj music

  • wow step its music

  • When I frist played in that area I muted all the sounds but the music to enjoy it... It reminded me of Golden Sun... dunno why... WoW has many very good songs... and others very boring...

  • Golden Sun... I love that game...

  • I don't play WoW, but music like this could sway me easily

  • Glad that in WoLK a few zones have memorable background tracks.

Most of the old world and TBC zones were completely forgettable... doesn't help that some had NO bg music either.

  • Outland actually sported quite a library of music. A lot of the music was quiet and didn't have a melody you could quite grasp, evoking Outland's desolate atmosphere, so that could be why you simply didn't notice the songs. The music played on all zones and special areas (towns, factions and other triggers). Songs also varied in zones according to time of day for areas with a day and night sky (see Nagrand) -- a sign of the game's attention to detail.

  • It's so eerily calm and unsettling at the same time. Warcraft has some phenomenal music.

  • also MMORPG

  • Very calming and atmospherical.

    *faves*

  • Without any doubt my favorite WoW music. Everytime I catch it when I decide to do Oracle's dailies is a blessing.

  • Blizzard said the reason for not making the music too complex in old wow and tbc is that because people would have to listen to it so many times they would get fed up of it.

  • while in reality, the music in ragnarok online was awesome (and complex) and I still listen to it even though it SUCKED as an MMO. and I always turned off the music in wow and put on winamp or something on the background :p

  • I remember the first time I heard this song while questing at one of the dragonshrines in Dragonblight. Truly epic moment. :) This + the Wintergrasp bgm are my favorite from the WotLK soundtrack.

  • Haha so they finally hired some capable music composer. The terrible music from vanilla WoW and TBC, finally replaced with a true 'MMO music' :D

  • also 1.23 - 1.44=Win

  • haha. I was just questing there yesterday and loving the music and actually thinking

"I wonder if SuperDarky will add this to his Best VGM list"

Glad to see you didn't disappoint

  • i think he disappointed you by quickly changing his name to "supra darky"

  • XD. I had a feeling I'd spelt it wrong

  • This is one of my favorite tracks in WotLK.

  • i never got lich king...but damn, this music is truly beautiful....this feels like a peaceful ending to a summer blockbuster or something...awesome!

  • reminds me of FFXI

that one place... where the mithra and tarutaru start...

    Saru something

  • Sarutabaruta. I don't hear the resemblance.

  • Sad thing is... as much as i love this song.. they ripped part of it from a celtic song hehehe

  • I didnt expect music like this from this game out of all things.

too bad quality music is so rare in games nowadays...

  • Scholozar Basin was always my favorite place to turn off my own music and listen to the music that played there.

Doesn't soundsa lot like something from Golden Sun?

  • WOTLK had good music, its a shame that when I played I grinded listening to metal lol.

  • Ahhhhhh this is so calming.....

It feels good to listen to this after a stressful day.

  • never would have imagined that game having good music.

  • it has a few actually

  • Actually, I recommend checking out the whole soundtrack. IMO it's solid quality throughout.

  • World of Warcraft does have a very good soundtrack, alot of people dont believe that but its the same quality and care as Blizzard has always used for their games.

  • @Dogysamich check out totems of grizzlemaw, you may like that as well.

  • @Dogysamich you have no idea
