  • Thanks Z0ne5ive! :)

  • very proud to call him my dad... I'm linking this to him lol~

  • I just watching "The Other Side of the Ledger: An Indian View of the Hudson's Bay Company" made in 1972. Towards end of film a song was sung about what the HBC did to natives. I'm fairly sure it was sung by Willie. I watched credits and it wasn't listed. Does anyone know how to figure out for sure who sang it, name of song, and if it's possible to buy album it was on? Thanks!

  • @Trishymouse The song that closes the film is called I Pity the Country and is from Willie's album Akwesasne Notes. I saw the CD for sale on Amazon, though it is a European import. It was reissued in Germany I believe. The song is not specifically about HBC but does mention it. Willie is playing this weekend in Ottawa :-)

  • thank..now if i can only get a recording of it ....that song give me the chills when i hear it ...beautiful!

  • This was the First Music Video and it won an award.

  • A truly beautiful song...

  • willy dunn sang a song about a kid called johnny who froze to death trying to walk home from a residential school. whats the title of that song?? no one must forget that poor kid. or the ignorant filth that caused it his death.

  • I think i know this song because there´s a Song where he sang "Walk on little Charlie, walk on through the snow..." But its Charlie not Johnny..maybe i´m wrong but this is the only Song that fits. The Song is called "Charlie Wenjack"... i will post it in the next time ;)

  • His name was Charlie Wenjack. He was thirteen and died when he was trying to get back home to his people.

  • awesome, we need more willie dunn tunes on here so people can get the chance to get to know him

  • great song! i was almost in tears when we watched the actual music video in class.
