Then it must be a Giuseppe Giovanni Guarneri, who was a competitor of Stradivari. From Pietro Guarneri only a few instruments remain.

Giuseppe Antonio is the Del Jèsu - his best period is after 1730 when he totally was absorbed with sound of the instrument.

  • Splenid rendition, orchestra too - which Guarneri? They all have a name and 1723 is almost from his best period ...... Is she family of Kung Wha ?

  • @zzp1 Hi, thank you for the kind comment. She told me that this is not of del Gesu...and she is not related to Ms. Chung...musically maybe ;)

  • she plays brahms a bit boring . . .

  • It's really Brahms music I hear here, not "bravura", but expression. In no other performance one can here so differenciated the voices in orchestra as here, especially the basses.

    Extraordinary musicality!!

  • I really dont understand the kind of ratings this performance has gotten. 5 * all the way

  • what thats your mom??????? I will blast if you are talking the truth!!!!

  • I just saw a masterclass taught by Kyung Sun Lee today. She was incredibly animated and seems to have a passion for the music of Brahms. (She worked with four pieces, but the Brahms Sonata that she coached today really made her come alive.) Her tone is exquisite, also!

  • That is sooooo cool! She called me from the airport where she was on her way to the masterclass earlier today. Man...you are lucky. I love her vibrato. Thanks for the comment, ts! I just got her Sibelius DVD in the mail. I should be uploading shortly.

  • Please upload the DVD. I really appreciate it! I very much enjoy her interpretation which is quite dramatic, intense, and "Brahms"...

  • It's been uploaded already :)

  • You happen to know what violin she plays? Strad or Guerneri del Gesu? It sounds so beautiful, rich and powerful! Love it!!!

  • It is a Joseph Guarnerius violin made in 1723. Sorry it took a while to reply :/

  • I would love to hear her play the Bruch violin concerto. She is very good.

  • Brian, I just got her Scottish Fantasy concert DVD. Come and visit my channel some time later. I should be able to upload it after Sibelius.

  • Brahms really did this...a master piece for music history ever

  • very, very well played! its a great pity that such people arent known at all in the west!! i havent heard anything of her! - great expression, but she has some little problems with the intonation... nonetheless, very beautiful!

  • Thank you again. You can find out more about Kyung Sun by Googling her. She resides in the States and travels quite a bit to perform.

  • Amazing more people need to start posting comments for this video is a really amazing viewing experience!!!
