He's like the grown-up-but-never-matured version of one of those spoilt-arse, show-off kids you used to always have take the stage at a Bar-Mitzvah or wedding. The parental units responsible used to kvell like he was some kind of Sinatra-Elvis-Cassidy wonder while all the other kids present used to tip jelly down his shirt and then plan detailed ways of torturing him at Cheder.
well,GG must have been green with envy that he didn't get this "song"! It's absolutely perfect-turn on the turntable and the bass to full and just let's dance! GLAM ROCK AT IT'S BEST!!!
Another great foot stomping 70's song.. totally brill! its a shame the real LEADER GG (Gary Glitter|) never did this one.. he would have camped it up and made it really come alive.. soz Baz great song but Gaz would have done it better mate.. loved the way it started off like GG's "Do You wanna Touch" (even the title is similar.. lol) shame that BB looked more like someone off the Waltons.. keep rocking Baz!
'there' 'germans'. You mean 'They are Germans' or 'They're Germans'. The Germans I know speak better English than that. And they gave us Boney M and Guildo. Have you never seen James Last's Star Parade? The Germans really love this kind of stuff. And David Hasselhoff. You've got to hand it to them - the oldest students, the youngest pensioners, the most paid holidays in between, and record trade surpluses, The Germans are laughing, believe me. And they really do like Barry Blue. Good stuff.
And they gave us Heino. A world kneels in hushed awe at this gift of a unique wonder, given by that most selflessly generous of nations unto the world.
@Meadoway40 - no! Nothing like GG at all, thank God! Gary was rock camp; Barry was glam camp. Plus Barry wrote all his own stuff and had much better songs than this out. Though this is great. IMO! Go Barry!
I was about 7 when this came out & I loved it. I remember him being half white & half blue harlequin in a flared leotard but it is a hazy blipvert memory
lol I wore Oxford Bags and falmer jeans,,nearly broke my neck running for a bus with the jeans they were so baggy they wrapped around my legs and tripped me up ,,lolol never forgot that lol
That was the kind of scary outfit that they wore then.....classic!! I loved Barry Blue when I was 16 and played his stuff for a while , but as with all fads it passed. But there's a strange thing, accoasionally this music comes back to haunt me and I still go through the odd phase of playing his Greatest Hits cd from time to time. Now that's scarier than his outfit!!! Lol!!!!
The 70s were really fun times, much nicer than the bleak and grim 80s...but when I see videos like this I am reminded of how frighteningly horrific the fashions were. Not that I wore anything like that, of course! But I do remember my electric-blue 20 inch wide parallels and my platform shoes poking out from underneath and my lemon star jumper!!!! Aaaaagggghhhhh!!!!! So very scarey....lol
OMG!!! I remember wearing star sequined suits and High waisted Trousers. I also recall breaking my foot in a pair of 6 inch platforms!! And as for the make-up, gyuys wore just as much as us girls did, and some of them looked a lot prettier. I loved it at the time, and miss those days occasionally.
I remember the high-waisted trousers, too. The wider, the more fashionable! And Birmingham Bags...really wide flairs. When my older sister saw me in mine she said 'One gust of strong wind and you'll be off over the roof!' LOL It was all really really dreadful, but god, did we laugh in those days! Everything was funny...
I think I did have a feathercut at one point, but I never wore clothes or shoes like that, lol...as for dancing, I can't dance regardless of what I've got on my feet
Barry Blue! Great stuff! His two biggest hits - 'Do You Wanna Dance' and 'Dancing On A Saturday Night' are two of my favourite songs from the 1970's. They are constantly played on my i_pod in my 1970's Glam Rock section.

I know you wouldn't ski anywhere else, but the single I remember from 73/74 was something to do with skiing!!

"Skiing in The Snow" was by a group called Wiga's Ovation. It came out in 1973 and was a Northern Soul classic.
