That was very helpful to me man. Your a life saver. However, the sheet music I have says to hit F sharp after G sharp, not D. Not that it sounds wrong (yours actually sounds the same), I was just a little thrown off.

This is wrong you play A and E then you play G# and E and then you play D and E... on the acctual keys you always play the E above mid C and the A,G# and D below mid C... sorry if that was abit up front but thats how its played...

Pretty sure Keytaster is right. The A-E Tremolo is a drone throughout almost the whole song, it doesn't drop down to a G# in the Snow Patrol version.

It doesn't matter if it follows the chord sequence, i'm pretty sure that it's supposed to be dissonant. The voice on top of it makes me think those notes are supposed to be dissonant.

yes but when you play the chords A, E and D you also play E and A on the A chord E and G# on E and then play E and D on the D chord so basicaly you play the route note of the chords with E

actually you should keep the A/E tremolo throuhout the whole verse. there should be a slight dissonance when you play the second chord g sharp/e in the left hand.
