Tom Brady = most overrated sportsman of all time. still great, but clearly not best of decade. For evidence see what unknown, crap quarterback Matt Cassel did with the Pats offense last year. No WAY he is the best of the decade, so many other options. If he ever won this, I could never respect the source that gave it to him.

You can't pick someone like Manning for athlete of the year when the game is only an hour, he doesn't play half of it, and in that half he is just standing around waiting for the play to get set up for the majority of it. so, what? he plays for 10 minutes once a week and he is an athlete? yeah, right.

Lance is a great story but your right, your cant picking an athlete of the decade like Lance or Tiger who play noncontact sports wouldnt be fair. Riding bikes and playing golf are hobbies, they are great at their hobbies.

I agree that the Patriots are the team of the decade and the Brady may be the top QB in the NFL, but athlete of the decade? Even more so that Shaq, Kobe or Lebron?

I dont know about football, but I know basketball. KB had rape case that he could never wipe it out, shaq isnt all that great outside of the court, cursing on TV, etc. and Lebron just happened to join the League at 2003 or 2004, cant even count Lebron into account, and he yet to win a championship.

Despit Kobe's rape case he is still one of the most predominant players of his game. In the All-Star game during Kobe's rookie years, he played against Michael Jordan. MJ said that he was thrilled to play with such an amazing player. He knew Kobe would grow and learn to be something unstoppable. Shaq's game has gone down since he left the Lakers. and Lebron is too new to be Athlete of the Decade, maybe in 2020. I am a Patriots fan and have been for a long time. But I think this is for Kobe.
