Hmm, under your description you say that *Andy* is the vocalist for *Colours*, but he's not.. It's *James Ray*.. Unfortunately, *Andy* didn't sing on any of the tracks due to record label politics, etc...
@ButterflyRoseX thanku thats what i thought- and just stuck my neck out saying- in a post about 'colours' ,that was loaded as from floodland (apparently) but actually wasnt.
@z1rakz1gal You're welcome :) But *TSOM* do have a version of *Colours* too, and it's on the *This Corrosion* single, as well as the *reissued* version of *Floodland* :)
I saw this live two days ago (the 15th November) in Bergen..and oh my...I lost my breath now and then, and Almost started to cry..My whole body, mind and sould felt 100% connected, and When Andrew started to sing, It felt like he was Jesus..And I`m even a Christian/believer! you have some serious talent, if you ever want to record or just talk. inbox me. im from aus. have a good night/day/ xoxox ps im not a dude. i have a vagina. deal with it. i guess. hahahaha
The Sisterhood album Gift is probably one of the most underrated releases from the 2nd wave of Gothic Rock. A well and healthy birthed record that while different from what The Sisters of Mercy put out still carried the same feeling The Sisters invoked; albeit in a different almost haphasardly crafted fashion regarding its lyrics but still provided a worthwhile listening to anyone willing to set aside thoughts that it was just released due to bureaucracy towards The Mission.
Contrary to what the lyric sites are saying, I'm pretty sure the lyric says, "And every fool will see his madness crowned" , It just makes sense in context as the next line says, "and every truth is swallowed up" Every truth is swallowed up on accound of His Madness, in place of His Highness, being Crowned ie: empowered. If His Madness were drowned, he wouldn't be empowered, he'd be dead. "In the place through which we wonder; reason is turned around; and every fool will see His Madness crowned
THIS SONG IS AMAZING AND DAMN NEAR IMPOSSIBLE TO FIND I HAVE LOVED THIS SONG SINCE THE DAYS OF ME BEING 14 YRS OLD AND BEING HEAVILY INTO THE GOTH SCENE ALOT HAS CHANGED SINCE THAN BUT MY LOVE OF THIS SONG HASNT
i remember dancing to this in gossips london(rip) when there was a goth scene there early 90s. there is no alternative to the cheesy, dull mainstream anymore.
oops...I stand corrected. After some heavy research, I found out I am wrong. Andrew did not sing on this due to contractual issues. James Ray was the vocalist
@jegstrup That's common knowledge, if you needed some "heavy research" to realize that I would scratch "Andrew Eldritch fan" off your resume...
You can however hear Andrew Eldritch singing Colors as it's a "bonus track" on "Floodland (Remastered and Expanded). To the average noob, the difference is hardly obvious, but I personally find the Eldritch version of Colors INIFINETELY better. Makes me wonder what the rest of The Gift's tracks would sound like with his vocal track. Maybe someday...
The singer is James Ray (check out James Rays Gangwarfare). When the Sisters of Mercy split Wayne wanted to call his new band The Sisterhood - I remember going to see them with tickets in the name of The Sisterhood in London and they announced that they could not legally use the name so called themselves the Mission. Wayne was joined on stage by Ian from The Cult who both slagged of Andy bigtime. Wayne and Ian allegedly had an affair.
Wait..who is actually singing in thi song? Andrew or Wayne? you are typing Andrew in the history about the band and the album Gift but afterwards it says that Andrew where only singing at Colours..who is singing this song? It sounds like Andrew to me, but I am only been a Sisters of Mercy fan for almost 3 years so what do I know..
I really liked it so much... is so hard to put on images to a terryfic music like this... and in this job had been demonstrated what´s a good imagiantion... I´ll hope U can help me to make a video for one of the songs of mine some day... don´t U?
when they were together it was the best thing back then... Andrew's lyrics are hammer to the head, Wayne and Craig were 50% rest. no argues, those were the good times.
@LittleFluffyToys ya its when eldritch was kicked out and they made this band but eldritch had the rights the the name sisters of mercy and any name with sisters in it so they broke up but they made an awesome band named the mission u.k. I LOVE ANYTHING FROM THE SISTERS AND ALL THEIR OTHER WORK

Sisterhood was a short-lived English musical project, consisting of Andrew Eldritch (writer and producer), drum machine "Doktor Avalanche", Lucas Fox (drums), Patricia Morrison (bass and vocals), James Ray (guitar and vocals) and Alan Vega (synthesizer and vocals). Vega provided vocals on "Colours" and "Giving Ground".
