So I already knew the ending before actually watching it. But I was really hoping he'd survive, for whatsoever reason. Guess not.

This sounds like a triumphatic song, which is not what the green mile represents. Its a good job, but i think your the only one getting those goosebumps

oh, such a sad scene. every time i see it i cry. they are playing this movie on tv1000 almost every day now...well...a lot...and every time i see this scene i just can't help but cry. that moment, where tom's character has to say the "execution" word, and he can't. how he's trying to hold back the tears but his heart does not let him...yet he must say it...and that hand...then the sparks all around and tom's face...those teary eyes....my goodness...

This movie change my opinion of a fellow who i grew up with. After seeing this and the guard in this movie played a nasty trick in JOHN COFFEY's exection. This movie send such a chill dowm my spine. Because that fellow who i went to highschool with, "Kelly Fagan" is a prison guard at the Edmonton Max or either the Edmonton Remand Center. Well that prison guard in highschool bragged to the whole school about how he worked at Smitty's Restraunt. About how he pissed in the pancake batter

@MstrssK I tend to disagree; I believe the original song is far better, since this sounds so out of place with the moment. It's making it out to be a momentous, epic moment with flashy lights and epic positive-things happening. Instead, the scene is meant to be a slow, sad scene trying to help the audience through the death of the character. There's a reason that they chose the original song and not this one or something like it.

The Chevalier de Sangreal scene is my favorite scene in the Da Vinci Code. And John Coffey's execution is the most saddest part in The Green Mile. Absolutely well done. The SOundtrack by Hans Zimmer fits perfect! 5*
