Berman? L'ho sentito. Amo la velocità in questo pezzo. Esso di palpa l'indipendenza non di giocare una ballata romantica. Cziffra era veloce. L'ho ascoltato. ..Vadim Rudenko ha l'ottima tecnica pulita non appena velocità.
Where did this guy come from? Good grief. I've heard Cziffra, Backhaus, Gavrilov, Ohllson and others. This guy leaves them in the dust. Awesome independence and SPEED. Like his hand shape also. No attempt at using the arm to force the fingers into the key. I'm going to check out some more on Rudenko. Awesome!

BERMAN ASCOLTARE...PER QUANTO RIGUARDA CZIFFRA E' UNA SUA SCELTA NON SUONARLO AD ESTREMA VELOCITA' ALTRIMENTI POTREBBE STRACCIARE TUTTI

hmm. Great playing. I'm not sure about Chopin though. He just wrote music because he sucked at sports. I know, I was on his softball team.

All that I want to say is that it is not possible to evaluate good or bad (at this performing level) because it is really matter of taste.
Example:
1. You don't like this (respect!)
2. I do like this
3. Someone doesn't care...
If all 3 are pianists, musicians in some other form, educated ... Than who is right?
It is only a matter of personal taste.
Glad to have chat with you by the way.
All best

You forgot to add "My opinion" before "less fantasy" and "only notes"...
This way it looks like you're right and all those people in the hall are wrong.
Don't do that- you look funny :)
However, I'd be glad if you can show me example and put video with title "So much fantasy, not only notes" with you playing this etude.
No hard feeling. :)

Mombeekmarcel is absolutely right! Moreover: the point of this Etude is LEGATO in the right hand.
Just listen to Wilhelm Backhaus (old recording), or, even better, Ingolf Wunder from Warsaw comp.
I think they are both here on YouTube.

re: Hanslick's comment - Sounds pretty darn legato to me. Also fabulously pp.
