@blacksheepgirl Hi. We do sell some baby stuff at the carrot house. But mostly gestures. There is plenty of places where you can get clothes and skins, but I haven't been in SL for a while. Can't tell you.. sorry..But I'm sure you can find anything you need in search or on marketplace.

@likeapopsicle8D Even if i tell you, i don't think you're going to spend 10 years learning all the software you need for that, then finding a perfect team to work with. Making something decent takes years of practice, patience. It doesn't happen the next day. Just for this baby WE spend one year perfecting it, scripting it. The babies we have now have 60 facial expressions, 300 hidden animations, hundreds of sounds. If you don't work with Photoshop, i suggest you start learning.

Thanks.. It was my first child avatar on SL.. And first time using Blender. I can't believe it happened a year ago! Time runs so fast when one's learning something new every day :)

There are lots of tutorials online, guys. And they're free!

BTW one of my computers came with free Adobe Elements.Works almost like Photoshop. If you want to work on textures, there's plenty of free software out there. You just need to keep looking.

Nice work PV. Good tips on supporting programs and not the least of it, being really clear about how much time the build process takes. A question. I'm trying to find out if my very, very basic "Photochop" skills are just going to make the idea of building an avatar a world of pain. Putting aside the obvious skill of manipulating layers, what other features of Photoshop would you think you'd have to be confident in using before considering launching in and trying to build an SL avatar?

The prossess of making this avatar took me about 14 hours. It can be a real pain because you need to make a skin first, then clothes, attached objects like skirts, shoes wings ets..Working with layers is one of the most important skills you should have because it really makes the job esy. unfortunately I can't describe each and every feature Photoshop has because it has no limits.. If you are an artist or just being creative, I think you can find or CREATE something of your own.

Working in Photoshop and finding the easiest way to make eyes, skin hair it totally up to you. Of course you can watch photoshop tutorials, ask around.. But the best way to learn is to try out different things and find the ones that work best for you. At least that's what I do. i hope that helped.

No if to be honest I use the One and Only Photoshop. Is there anything better than Photoshop? Hardly. I'm a big fan of Photoshop because it has no limits. Learn Photoshop and any other software will look like kid's toys to you.
