  • Do one on FORSHORTENING. Haha I'm having a lot of trouble with it

  • even in a fast sketch it looks amazing, it takes me longer to do something really good. even though my style of drawing is simple.

  • I just started doing like comic style drawing and if u culd do a how to on smoke and capes that wuld be amazing because its still a little confusing for me

  • the perfectly parallel speed lines he does at the end I'm like "whaa?!". Jim Lee is the king.

  • Awesome! It would be really nice if you could do a series on how to draw... Thumbs up if anybody would like it! :-)

  • I periodically check back to comics just to see how your style has progressed.

    You still got it Jim.

I wouldn't say that it has gotten cleaner, but your line work has evolved to become more than just great artwork, it's become a stronger realization of your artistic vision.

Your an inspiration. I hope to some day be able to inspire others as well.

  • coolness

  • Thanks for the fast How to video, Could you post one on Hands?

  • Is it possible for you to give us some tips on how to incorporate a background with a figure?

  • Man I've been having trouble drawing folds like crazy and that explanation was grand. But the speed of how quickly you drew that just blows my mind. You are truly "da man!"

  • More Jim, more!

  • finally some quality im Jim's videos

  • I was always taught to draw the character's "skeleton" first to get the proportions right, Damn you Jim Lee for spoiling my drawing habits.

  • you should do a how to on drawing heroic poses, also, maybe something about the torso and how the abs and ribcage is drawn

  • Damn you can put something so complex for me together so quick lol!

  • Great news to hear your drawing justice league cant wait to pick up this issue also just thought i'd add i love the wonder woman costume design.

  • so basically, the clothes folds comes from the joints of the human body like the armpits, elbows, back of the knees...very informative for aspiring beginners

  • You're an awesome artist. I wish I could draw that well, in such little time.

  • JOM YOUR BACK!!!!!! YOU ARE MY FAVORITE ARTIST, you are the reason I am into comics and sketching!

  • THANKS JIM!

  • Start drawing the X-men again or bust =) THE first comic I bought was x-men #4 at the drug store.

  • beautifully done.

I'm a novice so this kind of stuff is really useful.

  • 0:13 "I know this is just a quick vid, but I expected better than--"

    0:37 "--oh."

  • Great folds how to! That the key was to make them randomly was very nice to learn! Folds in clothes have always been an annoying obstacle in my own drawing.

  • You're so quick when you draw! and you make it look really effortless, well, i suppose this was effortless for you, but it's still gob-smacking how you can manipulate the pen on paper!

  • I have all of the comic book greats videos on my channel

  • dude, jim you are the man!

  • Mooooooorrrrrreee!! :D

  • More please......It's funny I just learned more in a minute from you than have in a whole book! LOL. You broke it down so quick and simple....DAMN

  • Thanks for taking the time to teach us a few things, Jim. We greatly appreciate it :D

  • Thx Jim! More of these are great!

  • You are awesome! Cant wait to see your upcoming work with Justice League!

  • can u do a vid of u finger painting something cool?

  • FINALLY NEW VID!

  • really appreciate you taking time out to post this kind of thing, keep them coming =D

  • The master, and my biggest inspiration in comic-style drawing. Thanks you Jim.

  • Oh that's awesome! I suck at drawing clothes.

  • This guy needs an iron in a terrible way.

  • Very cool! Its great that you still find time to post this fantastic how too with how busy you must be. Certainly is appreciated for those of us aspiring artist always wanting to learn more.

  • Kinda sad that this takes me about an hour for the same quality he gets in seconds

  • @SwagMaster9000 Dont get down. You gotta think hes been drawing the same kinda thing for years. If you drew pant legs for 30 years youd be pretty quick too.

  • @SwagMaster9000 Same here Swag.... i'll never forget what he said to me at Comic Con back in 07' Practice, practice practice.

  • @SwagMaster9000 the more you draw something the fatser you get...he's drawn thousands of pictures in comics , some with similar poses, over and over....just by repetition you'll get faster

  • Thank you for posting. You're the man!

  • Thanks Jim. Too bad you didn't have a anon account, then you could have uploaded this and baited a bunch of trolls into leaving comments like: YOU CAN'T DRAW or UR TERRIBLE AND SUCK!

Then school'd them all by just saying, "Hi, I'm Jim Lee."

When I used to copy your stuff in the comics clothes were always wicked hard for me to draw. I learned how to draw capes by copying Magneto's cape over and over and over.

  • that's fast, mad skillz mr lee
