why do we need gigantic springs artificially attached to the bottom of our feet?

wouldn't this negatively affect posture? if you tested several people who habitually go barefoot (or in minimalist footwear), how would the graphs compare? the more cushioning a person has, the harder they land. the z-coil certainly reduces pressure better than a normal heel-cushioned shoe, but heel cushioning retards foot development and changes the basics of every stride

We have yet to closely examine the ErgoMate matting system that slips onto work shoes. I am not sure how much shock-absorbtion it has as it looks pretty thin, but I'm happy to look into it. -Heather

people who wear them are satisfied with results, even with placebo into the equation 13% is not enough to kill pain and discomfort (which z-coil accomplish) I think the REAL results are greater than 13%

What we always like to say is, How ugly is your pain? When you are in so much pain that even everyday walking hurts and the only thing that seems to relieve your aching body is a pair of Z-CoiL shoes, you begin to see them in a new light. Also the cost of our footwear compared to the cost of surgery is another attractive quality.

Me personally, I love the look of Z-CoiL shoes! They are unique and fun. My current fav's are the Taos Strap & the Z-Trek!
