Your top string rattles because you are not putting your finger close enough to the end of the fret you are playing. If you are playing your E-string open try to tighten it just a hair so it won't rattle.

Try looking for this thing they sell at guitar center. Its this little grip thing that you hold in your hand and it has 4 spring released buttons you press down to help build the strength in your fingers. its like 10 bucks, but totally worth it.

Yeah theres a couple different ways you can play a C. I dont know which one youre playing but you can use any of them you want, just make sure you have an E in the bass for your second chord or else it wont sound right. The way I showed it in the video is just the way that they play it, but theyre all basic chords so any phrasing you like will work
