I just left a women who has BPD. I'm in a space where i don't kmow if I have or just beleive I have BPD. I'm seeing a psychcologist and he has told me I have post truamatic stress disorder. I hopein time I will heal from what I have lived through. I felt like I was loosing my grip on reality. I started to believe all those around me were the problem and where trying to distroy us. My husband is a NPD. Very sadistic, very abusive, very cruel. Likes to incite anger, humiliation and pain. The more love you show him and the more you do for him the more he hates you and the cruel he is to you. They lack empathy fully. They don't appreciate kindness, respect, etc. They see it as "weakness". They violate personal space and don't honor personal boundaries. They terrorize those closest to them. His mother is a NPD somatic narcissist.

I emigrated with my son to be with him, after six months, two affairs and a busted lip later I got away from him. 4 yrs later he creeps back, all conformed and repentive, I very stupidly I let him back but then was horrified after I suggested he seek counseling by his rage and total lack of feeling for the neglect, abuse and painy he caused us. However if you were to relate them to a personality disorder, it would be antisocial personality disorder. Yes, we all have some negative characteristics within normal human limits. But, people with personality disorders are far much worse. Deriding someone else doesn't give have NPD. Stealing from doesn't make you a psychopath. There are strict clinical criteria for personality disorders. Only less than 5-10% of the population truly have personality disorders. The rest are just jerks. :) peace.

I am so close to my Lord and have a great heart. just because I am Narcissist doesn't mean I am a bad person, or soul less. IT IS A PERSONALITY DISORDER. not a choice of life.

well... on one of the 'non' site (the only 'non' site i have used) there have been many threads started about the 'look' that we got from the person with a PD in our life... We all know that look... hollow, empty, lifeless, mean, cruel, vicious, scary... and empty stare that tells you the shit is about to hit the fan or you better just shut-the-f___ up, or else...

w/ a non friend I exchanged photos of my ex & hers.. the look is dif but the same. in her ex it was 'crazy' my ex was 'blank death'

Wow. I'm assuming one gets this look when someone with NPD doesn't agree with what was just said, or is offended. OK, YES, I know this symptom very well.

I ask cause i have HPD. Just curious for your honest opinion. am new to youtube so only have a couple of 'me' vids up, but they are there.

one more thing... HPD is nowhere like NPD...

i mean, you can have both, i guess.. but typically HPD will be more like a lot of BPD stuff... Now,,, BPDs can be a lot of NPD and (vice-versa) and APD is a mix with NPD and BPD a lot too... I;m sure there are plenty of HPDs with NPD.. but I think n the most part, HPD are too needy and frightened of rejection to have dominant NPD traits...

these are all grouped in the same area in the DSM IV (American Psychiatric Association)as "Cluster B Personality Disorders" and they tend to 'share' comorbid traits with many people from time to time at least.

Supposedly excessive emotionality and attention seeking, shallow range of emotions (not shallow emotions, just a smaller range), inappropriately seductive and self dramatised.

However it msut be said, this is a textbook definition, and i do not in any way want to try and say that hpdinme suffers from all these symptoms, and probably not as acutely as some would imagine.

very little is written or explored about HPD in particular---over NPD and BPD.

PDs are the LEAST likely of all human beings to seek out counseling, therapy of any kind. OTHER people are the problems. Those who fall prey to them in their personal lives, family member ("Non-PDs") are ones more likely to be littering a dr's office.

HPD can be just as bad as the other PDs.

I've seen it in action. Do NOT delude yourself. These are spectrum disorders.
