@bigndn82 Brush up on your Nordiques history, they became contenders with Forsberg not Roy. Granted Roy did put goaltending issues to rest in Colorado. As much as I hated him(being my rival, montreals goalie), Roy was a warrior. And he got into players heads better than any goalie I've ever seen. He wasn't called "the wall" for nothing.

He was not number one goalie in the nhl every year during his career, His ego was bigger then his pads.. i wouldnt ever say he was the best.. take a look at the history of the sport before hand.. look at the goalies who didnt wear a mask, or wear way oversize equipment. If you watch the Vernon / Roy fight again, they both get off only a couple good punches and Vernon takes Roy down. I think the result is exaggerated because of the cut Roy ended up with, but it's unclear at least to me where exactly it happened. I'd call it a draw, according to the punches thrown and landed, but of course Detroit fans are going to play up everything against Patrick Roy.

he liked to show boat and be flashy wit the glove but he is still one of the best ever, but i dont thin he was the best. the game is a lto different now, harder for goalies especially. the speed has changed and equipment is bigger on goalies harder to move and the sticks now are designed for each player so the speed of the shots are alot faster. you have to agree that the game today is much harder on goalies then it was in the 70's or 80's its changed since the 90's too.
