How do you make maps?

It's a rather complicated process, involving dozens of men working under a hot african sun. Luckly, it's quite cheap to do it this way.

if you're one of those fancy rich people, who wear pants and the such, than you use a model program, such as 3dmax or Maya 7.0 (collada .86)

You'll need quite a bit of experiance in modeling before I recommend modding HPL though.

Yes, this was supposed to continue the Tech Demo's storyline, so it seemed fitting to replace the items from Black Plague with the items in Tech Demo.

So yes, the glowstick is from the tech demo.

Sorry for the long response time.

Back when the tech demo was released, there were several people who rendered things in HPL. So I'm not the first modder to get this far.

But as for levels, I'm probably one of the furthest out there.

You can pick up flares and move them in both Overture(which the video was using) and Black Plague. Unsure of the Tech Demo, but highly likely.

Very little(besides game play)is changed. This is due mainly from the fact that you can change so little in the engine.
