  • jokeartcom: this is an incredible video - i used your techniques to complete my first class assignment, also a face... until I watched all 3 parts of Orlando Bloom I couldn't get the creativity I wanted... your video gave me breakthrough. Watched all 3 lots of times - used your techniques to complete my first class assignment, also a face... Hung in school president's student gallery, size 3x5. Respect the time it took you. Well done tutorial.

  • can i ask... are you using a tablet to draw in the selected areas sometimes?

  • @chickenbiscito I use a Wacom Bamboo A5 tablet for my vectors now. But this was done on a A6 Tablet.

  • @jokeartcom

yeah i read more of your videos, i added you on deviantart to my watch, im learning photoshop and see, i just got a bamboo craft tablet and im learning vector, everything, im learning how to use a tablet with an imaging program, like i have no idea how to use the tablet fully yet so im watching you do it, and trying to slow it down in my head so i can tell how you are doing it lol, fantastic job, i just dont know how you get lines like that, im guessing... the free path pen tool?

  • i just dont know how to do all of that yet, im still learning the tricks :p

  • hey man.. niiiiiiiiicee wooork... just a quesstion... what brush you use to draw moustaches and the beard?

  • its the pencil tool followed by the fill button

  • Just joined today, and this is Vector Art at its peak. Wish you offerred Vector portrait services, I surely would be your first customer. Excellent tecnique!

  • I do vector portraits in my spare time for customers. Currently drawing some cars for a customer state side.

  • what i dont get is the upper lip part. how did you multiply one layer and created a smaller version of it afterwards? I usually retrace a smaller version but that is tedious.

  • Are you referring to me drawing the shapes I do for the lips? As they are done one at a time.

  • i think hair is more tedious and harder to deal with compared to face. I'm still trying to find the right technique and I'm starting to understand it more by thsi vid. You seem to improvise more than actually trace it like the eyes or lips. im bad at improvising

  • When doing the hair, play with the settings of the pencil tool till you get what you want. You double click the pencil tool and play with the smoothness and the over bit (can't remember it). I have my pencil tool on 20 - 4

  • awesome

  • Oh my god... Amazing!

  • Thanks. I have done more videos since this one, so check out my others

  • very nice work dude

  • Thank you very much. I will have more like this soon.

  • Tracing is easy. Try drawing from life.

  • It is for some, but this is a video to show people how it's done. When I started out, I couldn't use it. So I am making videos for people to learn from.

I do this for fun, and drawing from life isn't any fun for me. Used to do it, but not anymore.

  • That's a shame because I think drawing from life is a ton of fun.

I've traced, shown some people how to do it and then tear my hair out as they can't see beyond it because of the ease to produce a good likeness.

  • O___O you're AMAZING!

    quite AMAZING!

    ...

    and the song too!

hahah do you know its name?

    ;) thanks

  • Thanks

It's Daft Punk - Around the World.

  • Illustrator is fairly easy to use once you master the pen tool. You should add this guy on myspace, his vector graphics are amazing and so are his friends on there. His moped illustrations kick ass.

  • Thanks :D

  • dang your good. is this adobe illustrator or photoshop?

  • Thank You. It's done in Adobe Illustrator CS2 with a Wacom A6 Tablet.

  • Great Job! I love Vectoring, but it takes FOREVER. The ammount of detail and realism you put in really shows your effort. Once again, fantastic work. ;)

  • ehhh man... idk dude.... wasnt that great =\

  • Let's see you try to do better.

  • i just got the hang of the pen tool its not dificult but but it takes time

  • helal olsun süper olmuş

    very good

  • wow, ur very talented with that vector tool, great job... ;-)

  • that´s amazing, is so difficult

  • Thanks.

I wish other people thought that. Most people I press a button in photoshop and it does it all for me. :(

  • what button on photoshop do you speak of??

  • There isn't one, but a lot of people think there is one. As I get it said to me all the time.

  • oh, ok cool. anyways dude, your work is awesome(shoulda pointed that out in the first place)
