  • I LOVE that song. oh, haters gonna hate ;)

  • sounds like a little doom/progressive.

  • @Tveitan666 Dream Theater is progressive metal, after all.

  • This song is about

  • The only terrible song from the album, that's what happens when an awesome band like Dream Theater copies a terrible band like RED.

  • @abwi1 dude REDs singer is actually a man and can sing

  • @abwi1 wtf?! this is awesome!

  • @abwi1 Too bad this only sounds slightly similar to the Red song Feed The Machine...they didn't completely rip off Red...it's not the first time a song has sound exactly like another song.

  • @abwi1 Really???!

  • I was looking for a completely different song, but I actually liked this and I had never heard of them before :)

  • Like this yooo [m]

  • Dream Theater sucks so bad that they can't even spell correctly.

  • @TheClarenceter You must suffer from Build Me Up, Break Me Down Syndrome.

  • @MlKEPORNTOY Porntoy.

  • i like how a dramatic turn of events abreviates to AdToe xD

  • @TheClarenceter Trololollolo. Suck my poo -.-

  • Great song and an amazing album. These guys are just remarkably talented musicians. As far as theclarenceter's comment: why don't u just keep your opinion to yourself since you're an idiot and you really don't have anything important to say!

  • nice song , adtoe great album

  • 56 people crave LaBrie's erotic behavior.

  • Spettacolare sta canzone!

  • Watch a full instrumental cover of this song in my channel!!!

Please Thumbs up so people can see!

  • @DeadOnNight do you mind if i will use it and give you credit for it?

  • @DeadOnNight i just cant find any instrumental version of any song in this album thank you.

  • @TheClarenceter Then why are you looking at their videos? -.-

  • @TheClarenceter mean*

  • hahahaha, where did i hear this before.....oh wait!

    Linkin Park - Don't Stay

  • @spastic377 nothing like this song... -_-

  • This song is about Jenga.

  • This song is only rhythmically similar with Feed The Machine. As a Red fan and Dream Theater fan, I'll say that this is only a coincidence. Live with it fanboys, deal with it.

  • @miujop not even that simular....

  • @TheJonnytheman Depending on how "simular" you're talking about.

  • This song is brutal Live. Dream Theater ftw!

  • @TheCynicOne not anymore ;)

  • 666 people like this video!!!

  • Best song on the album, and there are many great ones... I love this new album!!!! Its definitely better than their last one... Mike Mangini is amazing, arguably an upgrade from Portnoy and in my opinion just as good... What a Seamless transition... Dream Theater is fucking awesome...

  • This song really lets out the demons.

  • *Crrying* Finally, I found the perfect music for me... THANK YOU for uploading this! <3333

  • Oh no, a song sort of sounds like another song, this must be the first time that ever happened...

  • Dream Theater: thanks for introduce me the music!

  • My Earth Science teacher loves this band, and now I do too lol he always plays it in class. Dream Theater <3

  • Anybody who says this song sounds at all like feed the machine is obviously not a musician because not ony are the note sequences completely different, they are not even in the same key. Don't think in a million years that a master like John Petrucci needs help from a band like Red to create good music.

  • Music is and always has been plagiarism with a twist. Calm down, enjoy how the puzzle pieces fit together, and get off of John's case.

  • My Ex is a cocktease. This one's for her.

  • this is crap...hahahaahahah

  • @owenkhan777 GO SUCK ONE

  • Comment removed

  • Dream Theater is dead. Since Portnoy left they will never be the same. The dream is over. No creativity no nothing. So sorry.

  • @aerch1968 what? :D you're trying to tell me that this new album is NO CREATIVITY?

  • @aerch1968

thats cool, one person doesnt like new dream theater. im sure they will disband now.

  • Pertucci = plagiarist

  • 4:19 - 4:41

Greatest 22 seconds of my life!! Well, second greatest...

  • I love it how people are dismissing this being a rip off, seriously? Go listen to Feed the Machine, then listen to the intro to this. Tell me it's not a rip off. If JP hadn't said Until We Have Faces was his #1 album of the year it could be different, but seeing as it's his favorite alb um this year then it's pretty clear. I heard Feed the Machine firs,t and I only had to listen to about 8 seconds of the song to see what MP is talking about. Copying a riff isn't inspiration, it's plagiarism.

  • Continuing from my last comment though, granted, it is easy to copy songs from your favorite band, but you'd think a band as big as DT would be responsible and catch it. True, Red isn't complaining, or at least yet, but it doesn't make it right. And, sure, MOST of it doesn't sound too similar, especially since Feed the MAchine lacks a solo, but just listening to the end and beginning is enough, and even just the intro or outro is enough to call it plagiarism. I definitely think it's a rip off.

  • BUT, again, continuing, before I get hate, I think it is a rip off at the beginning and end of the song, BUT I think it's probably TOTALLY accidental. It's easy to do that to artists you like, so yes, while the intro and outro are total rip off of Feed the Machine, the rest of the song isn't, and it was probably a mistake that they [somehow] didn't catch.

  • @Songwriter4God JP did steal this....from Dream Theater Images and Words (1992)..you fail, again.

  • @GuitarAndWow ...No, you fail. Have you ever heard any of Red's songs? Go listen to Feed the Machine, the beginning of the two songs are EXTREMELY similar, and the fact JP named Until We Have Faces as his number one album of the year contributes to the belief he either unintentionally or intentionally ripped of Red.

  • Absolutely with MP here and have been ever since he left DT. This song is not only a rip off of 'Feed the Machine,' it is also inferior to 'Feed the Machine' too. I didn't like this song when it first came out and I like it even less now. Also, LOL at John Petrucci liking Red's album more than 'Grace for Drowning.'

  • the first time I heard this song i thought of red feed the machine. the first time I heard red feed the machine I thought dream theater. Who cares?

  • People always have to argue when comparing two bands that shouldn't even be compared.

  • Guys, is RED complaining about the supposed "rip-off" ? No? now gtfo.

  • the end of dream theater means the end of the world, get it straight

  • wasn't keen on this song at first...but it has definately grown on me

And wtf is that chord in the middle 8 part (4:01 - 4:21).....thats pure evil, I love it.

I think Mr Rudess may have hit a couple Z notes in that one

  • this video clip has more comments about it that are: longer than 2 paragraths, than I have ever seen......I guess that says something about this song and Dream Theater

  • And I don't get all the hate on this song. It's the first DT song I've ever heard (inb4 people saying shame on you) and still my favorite. I absolutely dislike Linkin Park, and I see no similarities with this song. And even if you don't like this song it's not the end of the world. As an Offspring fan, I often have one song on the album I don't like at all. So what? The rest still rocked on. But still all those comments seem only hatin'. So I guess I should ignore those and enjoy the music.

  • RED sucks balls.

  • Who the fuck cares if this is a ripoff? (For me it isnt)

This is WAY better than "Feed the Machine"

So, who thinks that this is ripoff can go to hell and take their cheap Red with them.

  • Are you people deaf? The songs don't sound the same. You're bound to find similarities if you start comparing this or some other song to a trillion other ones, but a ripoff???

Just calling this song a ripoff could provoke the anger of DT and destroy the universe, you fools!

    Stop while you still can!

  • Too bad Petrucci kicks way more ass than anyone in RED...

  • But... But RED sucks.......

  • Am i the only one that doesnt think these are the same songs??

  • RED is terrible so no one cares

  • way to rip off RED? -.-

  • I'm not the biggest fan of dream theater but I respect them for their progressive sound and this is them trying to go mainstream to get people like myself to like them. I really don't dig this nu-metal sound of theirs esp since this song is heavy influenced by the Red song so all in all not much originality

  • /watch?v=3KdMwt6HFxg <--- Watch this video to see the similarities between this song and Red's "Feed The Machine." TOTAL RIPOFF.

  • @dmdollinar08 With the hundreds of thousands of songs written their are bound to be a few that sound similar to each other. I have heard the Red song and they do sound vaguely similar but i wouldn't say its plaigirsim or a "rip off" and if it was Dream Theater did a better job. And why would a innovative and masterful band like DT want to rip off Red anyways?

  • Total ripoff of "Until We Have Faces." The guys in nu-DT have zero class.

  • I'll finish my cover really soon!!

    I promise!

  • Mike Portnoy is a fucking asshole. That's the only truth.

  • @C35ARD the only truth here is you posting unnecessary, unfounded and subjective and insulting comments... that is being an asshole... you clearly have no insight on what has happened and what is going on between mike and DT

  • my friend loves these songs but i'm not a fan!

  • Hey guys I made my first original metal song inspired by Dream Theater. Please give it a ry and tell me your opinion. Thanks!

    /watch?v=9gRQgYdlxbA

  • never judge ab album by its cover this is not what i expected

  • @emoney187 The title of the album was originally going to be Bridges in the Sky, which is where the cover concept came from. I know what you mean though.

  • The ending is trippin', man!!!!

  • EVERY TIME I SEE A COMMENT THAT SAYS THIS SONG SUCKS MAKES ME PUNCH A HOLE IN MY WALL! I'M SO PISSED OFF ARGHHHHHHHHH AND NO THIS IS NOT BASIC, IT'S CREATIVE AND POWERFUL SO GO LIE IN FETAL POSITION IN A HOLE UNTIL YOU CAN WRITE A BETTER SONG THAN THIS. OH WELL, LOOKS LIKE NO ONE WILL EVER SEE YOUR SORRY ASSES EVER AGAIN. I SAW THIS SONG LIVE AND CRAPPED ALL OVER THE PLACE, SO AMAZING ASDFHDSLFASKJDFHASDFL!!!! LUCKILY PETRUCCI TURNED ON KILLZONE MODE AND MELTED IT ALL AWAY. Well, that was fun.

  • @soccerstud4243

I'm going to allow you to calm down first.

Firstly, you need to understand basic does not mean shit. In fact, The Axis of Awesome physically show you how basic has run the top of the charts for the past 40 years.

Secondly, telling people to go write a better song is retarded, and shows you have the mind of a 2 years old (as well as the ability to type) music is subjective so I could play 3 notes that sound like a bat dying. But to me it could be the best music ever. (cont...)

  • And just to add. Dream Theater have just been accused of stealing this off Christian Rock Band Red. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if there was a law suit on the way. So once you're finished telling everyone to go write better music, make sure DT actually wrote the song first.

  • @Dyotiify What song are they accused of stealing? The vast majority of music plagiarism lawsuits never go anywhere. The song has to pretty much be a note for note and/or lyric for lyric copy or a plagiarism lawsuit will go nowhere at all. See: Joe Satriani vs Coldplay. John Petrucci has stated that he is a fan of the band Red and Dream Theater has never, ever been shy about wearing their influences on their sleeves.

  • @ProgHead777 feed the machine - Red

tbh i see the similarities but they're completely different songs, lots of songs use similar structures, its just a coincidence these songs also have a similar sort of structure

  • @ProgHead777

Well really the Satriani vs Coldplay lawsuit did go somewhere since Coldplay settled out of court.

  • @ProgHead777

Agreed some of the greats copy to some degree others work in fact Hendrix himself has admitted to practically ripping off other riffs, but this sounds almost spot on to Feed the Machine by Red. Disappointing I thought DT were better than that.

  • @Dyotiify They copied Muse back in the Octavarium days copying main riffs from the song Stockholm Syndrome.

  • @MorkaGraven

Upsetting. What has new music come to... Oh wait. I don't want to go back to that part of the internet. I'll stay here for now.

  • @Dyotiify Woah, I didn't even know 2 year olds knew how to type..... didn't know we were in AP comp either (but you also failed then because you said "calm down first... firstly, herp derp"). Anyways, I can recall not directing that comment at you, so I'm not sure why you are aiming this at me. Second, what's wrong with telling people to write a better song when they are acting like they can? Lastly, I was mad at those calling it basic because it ISN'T. It's no Fatal Tragedy though.

  • @Dyotiify In short, I don't care if people don't like this, but in it's own way, it's complex.

  • @soccerstud4243 lol this song is DT trying to be nu metal. *cough* sucks..

  • @metallica5252 Its not bad for an experimental song

  • Mike Mangina

    John Roidtrucci

    John Mywang

    Jordan Rudeass

    Lames Labrie

    SUCK

  • @MlKEPORNTOY Hey dude, the use of suble humour like this is totally lost in a world where tone and body language don't exist. I would suggest using a telephone to talk to your ex band members.

    failing that....there's the postal service.

just my 2c worth, Mr Portnoy

  • wow this is absolutely fucking terrible

  • @theweedpanda Why is it?

  • @TheExplodingPumpkin

    Because he's a fucking troll.

People tend to downrate things for their own entertainment, without having an actual reason. They feel powerful like this. But after all, all this "power" they have is a computer with internet access and (surprisingly) the ability to type despite their mental problems.

  • that is an amezing song!

  • awful chorus and really predictable structure, definitely the low of the album

  • im an angry portnoy fanboy and this song is badass!

  • Awesome riffs, powerful chorus, killer solo. Dream Theater destroys.

  • Remember when these guys made progressive rock? Me neither.

  • @drummaross1015 Remember when somebody made a comment like this the last time they produced a catchy, somewhat radio-friendly song, ignoring everything else on the album?

Oh wait, it happens on every album they release.

  • linkin park and disturbed? NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!!!! are you stoned?

  • It does strike me as being somewhat nu-metal (so what?), but it reminds me most of some elements of Awake and even Octavarium. It certainly fits within the larger DT repertoire.

  • I like all their albums, but I LOVE this one!

  • This guy is amazing, call it advertising or not, but he can make almost exact covers of everything!

    /watch?v=RkZHO0of4LY&feature=channel_video_title

  • awesome song...Dream Theater still kick ass !!!. you guys should listen to Circus Maximus- Isolate... another fantastic album...

  • A non-DT type song but Petrucci's riff would still make today's nu-metal bands shit in their pants :)

  • @86akhilgupta yeah this is not typical DT sound but its still REALLY SUPER long

  • @onlineguyscom people change, as does their music ;)

  • This sounds like Björk - Army of me

  • @4:20 orgasmic solo

  • This is not early Dream Theater, but it's still quite good. It's not that Fresh and dynamic as the older songs though.

  • guturals/growls would fit better on the chorus than these chicken screams

  • This song is about Lego. lol

  • Mike Portnoy go out, FO@# THAT SHI#, Dream Theater still one of the best bands of this generations

  • Horrible, you Mike Portnoy ... YOU LET IT HAPPEN. =(

  • I love this band, cant wait to see them on December 11 in mexico df!

  • Wow... I'm impressed how little I liked this song. I like DT really much but this is just so... boring.

  • @MALSIV Sad but true

  • This was originally entitled "Build Me Up, Break Me Out." It's about Petrucci's 'roids related skin problems.

  • @MlKEPORNTOY Your name... :P

  • I want to hear this song but unfortulately i can't because when i hear it i cum every 15 seconds.

  • My opinion... I hear Dream Theater.. I wouldent say its the weakest song on the album but its not the best! But I Still think this is pure gold. Linkin park couldent do this! DT is way to FUCKiN AMAZING to sound like LP! Great song i Love it!

  • You build me up... You break me down until I'm falling to pieces...

    \m/

  • Fucking AWESOME!!!

  • Definitely one of the weakest songs on the album, but better than most of the stuff on black clouds & silver linings

  • This song...how to describe it...it's kind of like old-school Linkin Park and RED had a child that turned out to be progressive metal.

  • don't hate me for saying this, but the intro riff reminds me of "Click click boom" by Saliva

  • Thumbs up and i'll make a full cover of this song! :O

  • @DeadOnNight Awesome!

I didn't expect so much feedback!

I'm gonna start working right now! :D

  • Still think Mike is the better drummer but the new guy doesn't sound to bad

  • @Daeden1 They're both Mike :D

  • @twistedrock

    Mike Portnoy

  • (: :)

  • I do think the drums aren't as good, but still a fine song.

Still never been disappointed with a DT song
