The power of the Internet. I just had a phrase stuck in my head, was reminded of a song by... someone. Looked it up on Youtube and came straight to here. Total time, about twenty seconds.
@cjsima You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but darling one, Paul would be the first to tell you that John was a wonderful man, and talented musician. Had his faults as do we all. But no need to say mean things about dead people. Wow.
Cool song this I gotta say and seeing football is a big FAIL for me lately I may start ballroom dancing, lol, why not?He he heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!
@adater There was a show on British TV at the time that was an ongoing ballroom dancing competition. That's what inspired Paul to write this song. The "Big BD" bit was a parody of the show's theme song.
This was Paul's second post-Wings album. The first was McCartney II where Paul played all the instruments. On this album, Paul had different "guest stars" on every track, including Stevie Wonder and Carl Perkins. Ringo even drummed on several tracks. Michael Jackson was supposed to be on this album too, but Paul held that track (Say, Say Say) for his next album. Paul orginally wanted both John and George to "guest star" on some tracks, but John was killed and George declined.
@ebayboycotters Interesting, since Paul really wanted to get away from his "Wings sound" on this album. That's why he brought in so many guest musicians (Stevie Wonder, Carl Perkins, Ringo etc.) and got George Martin to produce it.
cool version of this - huge production number - in the movie Give My Regards to Broadstreet.

I consider this LP to be the last official LP to have the "wings" sound as we remember it.
