@headonnis ZR1 has a 7:19 stock on the Nurburgring. GT2 RS didn't do the full Nurburgring it did 230m shorter than the ZR1 (look it up). Gumpert Apollo isn't street legal. Viper ACR -7:12 on the Nurburgring 100% stock AND street legal.

@karma661 Coming form someone who just bought a brand new GT500, this is not a true statement. The 2012 GT500 an barely put that power to the ground efficiently. How on earth is it going to do that was 100 more? Don't get me wrong, its a great car, but I had a v8 M3 before it, and I would say that is its closest comparison.... not exotics.

@philritter21 because the GT500 uses the same live axle rear end as they've always had... all other cars with more horsepower use a multi-link rear end and are able to put that power down.
This is one of the downfalls of the mustang. Its fairly rare to find an IRS mustang.

@BAwithBALLS Not only is there the CTS-V (which I do not prefer by any means) but there are also cars such as the Boss 302, which if you do a little research, you'll find that it was born on the race tracks back in the late 60's and the late-model ones out-perform everything anywhere near the price range on road courses, also see corvette z06 and zr1, and Dodge viper, viper ACR etc. Hell, even old muscle cars can be outfitted with modern suspension and kill everything on road courses, numbnuts.

My all-time favorites are the Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth 383 and 400 cubic inch big block v8's, which are pushrod torque monsters, but have a small-block v8 stroke, meaning good fuel economy. My '73 Fury hardtop coupe, 400 cubic inch (6.6 liter) w/ 850 cfm double-pumper performance carb averages 18 mpg highway, close to the m3. I built the engine myself, too. German engineering is overrated.

As Holden deals with nilly all GM RWD preformance cars they always have input, the hight percentage of the camaro was designed by Holden, even the newst pontica firebird is a Holden built in Australia then shipped to the US. Again the gen 5 camaro is more Australian then anything els with the exception of it being built in Canada. It is through and through a Holden design, GM wanted Holden to do it cause they are GM's world leaders in RWD design cars.

The only other car that was sold in the US using the Zeta platform was the Pontiac G8/Holden Commodore, which was completely designed in Australia. And what newest Pontiac Firebird? Pontiac doesn't even exist anymore. Holden deals with no GM rwd cars, besides the Camaro, and the Caprice which will be on the Zeta platform

Not only does the Camaro look better on paper, The Camaro has 580hp and 556 lb-ft of torque and the Mustang only has 444hp and 380 lb-ft of torque, but it looked even better on the track. Why must Ford use more than one company to make a super car when Chevy only uses just one, Chevy. And the new Mustang GT-500 isn't a Ford It's a shelby.
