Daigo as usual was playing with his opponent. He always lets them get as close to possible to winning before he finishes them off at will. In the last set down a round with no health left after the little shouryken he could have finished off Dhalsim with an ex fireball while Dhamsim was landing, but he let Dhalsim fall and Arturo another chance and still finished him off at will. Same thing in the third round, he could have just finished Arturo off with the Ultra fireball while he was falling

I see to many guys getting good leads on Daigo but at the end Daigo wins. I think they get nerves and play too conservative. Keep playing aggressive to finest him off. @CRoNiKCC Um Dhalsim is a slow player. Having the yoga moves make him a long distance fighter so keeping away from your opponent is what you suppose to do with Dhalsim. You can’t win with Dhalsim playing close combat unless you can get openings to do quick combos.

Not really anything all that special if you ask me. Before you say though, I am aware that SSFIV isn't simply about pulling off huge combos or anything like that, but a little variety wouldn't hurt any, no?

In my eyes both these guys, to me, looked as if all they were doing were spamming punches and fireballs. No real mix

Beginning Level of play is more or less like this in a way, Intermediate is where you try and use elaborate combos and mix-ups and really try to dish up as much damage as possible, then the game seems to devolve when you go into the Pro Level. Everything has been simplified, it's no longer about Combos, so much as try and simply chip away the opponent with the odd kick and punch until you can move in with a Special Move.

Kinda weird in a way.

This is more enforced when I was watching Daigo vs jpizzle, even though there were a few more elaborate combos thrown into the mix, at times even Diago failed to get full combo usage from a Focus Setup. That shows how unforgiving this games input can be.

Would that perhaps be the reason Pros keep it simplified yet apply the more complex mechanics?

@Kutan, well when i mentioned the daigo vs jpizzle fight, i wasn't eluding to the fact that daigo was pulling more combos, i was aluding to the fact that when people try and fight daigo, or any other pro player with combos they stand no chance. and it may seem like they keep it simplified, but the level of complexity they are playing is more complex that what it may seem, and that show how good this guys are, they make complex moves seem simple.

@femtau I'm going to minimize his skill. He uses zoneing characters like Seth and Dhalsim. If it's not Seth or Dhalsim, he uses what some American players consider to be the most improved character in the game with the best ultra out of every character... and that would be Rose. I would enjoy seeing his Rose against Daigo. If Arturo had to play the inside game with Daigo, he would get demolished. So yeh, his skill is nowhere near Daigo's... which is why he uses Dhalsim evertime he plays Daigo.

I think the way Dhalsim is played is uninteresting and it annoys me but I still enjoyed this match. Daigo had to work a lot harder to get damage and rounds, which made it really interesting because of how high skill the two of them are, it's ridiculous.

Why would he consider picking his secondary in a money match, especially against someone as solid as Daigo? You claim Sabin has an unfair advantage and you claim Sim is easy. Why is Sim not placing high in tournaments? How many Sim's made it to top 8 at Evo? Top 16? Top 32? You are chalking up Sabin's experience and skill to some "unfair" advantage, when he is playing a character that has been designed this way for years. And for the record, I'm not a fan of Sim, I find him infuriating.

@Nexttimeillwin It seems like you have a bias against Arturo.If you actually watched the match, they were dead even the entire time. Both players were playing their characters at such a high level. It was a dead even match all the way around. Remember, Arturo beat him last year first to five and Daigo praised him as being better than Iyo,the best Sim player in Japan at the time.In terms of level of play, there is little separating the two. I mean,even when Daigo got in, Arturo had great defense.
