  • Where can you buy an R7 from?

  • @ecotack

there's a link in the video description, note: Panasonic have discontinued all 4:3 screen Toughbook Lite models, they only make wide-screen, so the Panasonic R has been replaced by the Panasonic J series

  • i have the original cf-r1, these are really great machines

  • I gave my CF-R1NCAXR to a friend in 2006, it was about 4 years old and still got about 2 - 3 hrs on the original battery... try that on a Sony :-)

  • or try it on the new mac air, battery garunteed for 2 years, but you cant just go buy a new one, the battery is locked inside.

three of my friends want to buy mt cfr1, you just cant get a 2lb notebook like it anywhere else.

  • does it have a disc drive?

  • the R model has no DVD-RW drive inside (like the MacBook Air), there is an optional USB powered DVD-RW drive.

  • oh, thanks a lot.

  • Great review. Thanks for the comparison. Quick question: how heavy is the power adapter for this thing? It would be silly if it adds another pound to the weight of this thing :)

  • It weighs 250 grams (1/4 pound) - including all the cables. The Power adaptor on the R7 is also pretty small and is good from 100-240v so works world wide.

  • Great. Thanks for the info. That's pretty light. So the total weight comes to approx. 2 1/2 lbs. That's about half the weight of my current 14" laptop.
