@rams273 According to Wikipedia, Matt Leblanc acted in some shows and some music videos since 1988. He appeared in some Married with Children episodes, including the pilot for Top of the Heap. In 1994 he became Joey.
A radio station calls Al and offers him $100,000 to name the song, and plays the same part he's heard over and over. He can't come up with the answer, and as soon as the DJ is about to tell him the answer, the phone goes dead.
Anna (Go to Him)" is a song written and originally performed by Arthur Alexander. His version was released as a single by Dot Records on September 17, 1962. A cover version was performed by The Beatles and included on their 1963 debut album Please Please Me
I was at a stripclub in atlantic city last night talking to a dancer named Anna and somehow the conversation led to her saying she loved Married with Children so I had to bring up this episode to her because of her name. She knew every detail about the episode and i was so impressed i ended up over tipping like 30 bucks for a dance. Goddamn alcohol
@ItsThijsbitch very nice. although i looked it up The Beatles covered this song thus for John Lennon loved Arthur Alexander -Anna and added it to their category i hate covers i enjoy originals but The Beatles did a great rendition of the song its self
Why the hell did you cut out the most pivotal moment in the final scene when Bundy pleads to the Almighty "can't you show that you love even Al Bundy?" then God plays "Anna" on the jukebox. That was the most beautiful moment in Married with Children. Even a lowly man with nothing to live for is shown mercy. Boo to the editor on that one.
I had this moment today haha. I was searching for the re-rewind song by craig david. I was like this to my mother, dad and brother lol. i came this morning downstairs asking like crazy do you know the lyrics?! Its an old song i remember as a kid and they were puzzled as I was. but then all of the sudden my mom knew it. just wanted to tell that lol
When I first saw this episode, I had never heard the song. But afterwards, I knew that I needed to have it. It took me 15 years, but in 2006 I finally found it. Now I listen to it all the time. Thank you Al Bundy!
@DeatgMagnet Actually dude, though the actual lyrics are "Go with him", the title of the song is 'Anna (Go to Him)'. Feel free to check it on Wikipedia.
It's definitely Arthur Alexander with 'Anna (Go To Him)'. John & the Beatles covered it of course. They also performed other AA songs. Good taste, Al Bundy!
I always hated how they ended this episode because I always to see Al beat the crap out of Matt LeBlanc's character. If anything I'm sure Al would have thrown him out the door without opening it first.
u know this was posted today & by coincidence I just thought of this song, so I had to look it up. it's like it was destiny. this episode made me laugh so hard.
