What a bunch of bull!! According to this guy, people are too stupid to understand the older language of the Bible. So going by that standard, all of the Shakespear plays should be updated to modern English (picture The Situation and Snooki playing Romeo and Juliet.)

@pjamese3 Well that's old english compared to modern english. But in this case it's the translation from ancient hebrew and greek to english. Basically the point is that the english translations that you're used to reading are allegedly inaccurate.

what you people fail to realize is that these people need to get the bible 'right' because they watch the sales reports and realize what people want to hear. then they go back and fix the glitch...so I only have one problem with the bible...I dont collect the proceeds from it!!!!DAM!!!!

maybe it's not my business what you people do with your books and translations and languages. Still isn't it true that the Isaiah 7:14 is translated in Greek by Matthew in his gospel (1:23) and the word he uses for "almah" is "παρθένος" which clearly means virgin/maiden? He could have used the word "κόρη" (lass) which would emphasize more on the young age but he didn't. I really wonder what is the meaning of this change. Oh, well...

Transparency? How does that explain the writer Isaiah stating: "BEHOLD A MAIDEN SHALL CONCEIVE". It only creates great doubt on the part of the reader, and would not be anything to behold, or to pay particular attention because "maidens" give birth daily.The fact that the writer said that something unlike that which had ever taken place before will indeed take place, meaning that a woman will conceive without the help of a man. The writer would never had said:Behold a teenager will have a baby

Interesting to note, that the language spoken by the Hebrews when Isaiah was written was Aramaic, not Hebrew. The readers of the Tenach at that time had to study the Hebrew bible just as a person who speaks modern Greek would need to study the ancient Greek in order to learn the Greek of the New Testament.

I am agreed 100%, let start publish with original scripture on one half side and other half in English. that will safe future problem. I am Muslim but read Holy Bible all the time as I read Holy Quran. The big difference is original word like Quran have always Arabic with any other language translation. that give reader a freedom to do more research with learning of original words. I learn t Arabic, I will love to learn Hibru.
