  • ...when love breaks down ..this track keeps me going on.....

  • This song, to me, is the last in a trilogy - We Will, Alone Again..., and Happiness... They share the same rhythm, but are different in mood. Love 'em all. :)

  • [Continuing on from my previous 'post' about the song, "Happiness Is Me and You", by Gilbert O'Sullivan]: record buying public, back in the 1970's. As I have said before [on other You Tube discussion boards], I consider Mr O'Sullivan to be as talented as Rod Stewart and Sir Elton John - and that is no exaggeration.

  • Ray O'Sullivan's 1974 hit - "Happiness Is Me and You" - would indeed have made an excellent theme tune for the Granada TV romantic 'sitcom', The Lovers, starring Paula Wilcox and the late, great Richard Beckinsale (G.R.H.S.).

I do not know why this fine song only reached # 19 in the charts, back in 1974. It certainly deserved to be a much bigger hit than that. Mr O'Sullivan's immense talent - as a singer and songwriter - was, for the most part, seriously under-rated by the British

  • [Continuing on from my previous 'post' about 'The Lovers']: 31, was a tragic loss to the acting profession in this country - as well as to his family and personal friends. God rest his soul.

  • I lived in Britain (Norwich, to be precise) in the early 1970's, but when "The Lovers" was on TV - between 1970 and '72 - I was still only a small child, and would not have been allowed to watch a programme like that - even if I had wanted to.

However, I can vividly recall watching several repeats of that romantic 'sitcom' in the autumn of 1996 ... and I must say that I thought it was pretty good.

Richard Bekinsale's sudden and untimely death - in 1979 - at the very early age

  • I love all the pics on this vid. The film is actually been posted on here now. Someone posted it for me. So I have actually seen it. I am so made up now.

  • @chalyminx The dvd of the series is not expensive to buy. You will defo hear it on there.

  • I love Geoffrey and Beryl. I only watch it recently for the first time. I bought the dvd and there was no scene were they were at a footie match and who is the woman on top of georffey on the couch coz i never saw that either?

  • @ADyingFaith Those pictures are from the movie version - not the tv series . I think the film was also called ` The Lovers ` - maybe that`s on dvd too ! The picture at 3 : 00 is a poster for the movie .

  • @mohawk3881 I watched another clip on here and saw that it was from a movie they made. I have been trying to find it to buy and ebay, play or Amazon dont have it. Am gonna keep trying ebay.

  • @ADyingFaith If I ever see it advertised anywhere I`ll let you know .

  • @ADyingFaith Thank you. I think the dvd of the two series only recently came out. I dont why they didnt include the film.

  • @clivestanley66 Thanks . Yes Richard was a great loss - so much potential as an actor .

  • Well, same as RAYalized. I wasn't born in those time or even in UK.

But this song always be my top ten! When I broke up with my boyfriend, I listened to this song everyday, kept thinking that someday I'll recover without the aid of any plan.

' Happiness is Me and You ' really means to me.

  • @Zapidian It is a great song - simple lyrics that many people can identify with . That`s a sad story you shared with us - I hope it had a happy ending but it sounds like it didn`t !

  • @mohawk3881 Yeah, all my love life has been involved with Gilbert's song. Even it's all over, I'm still a big fan of him :) Heart broken cannot stop these great music from me!!

  • @RAYalized Yes Nicole this is a bit of 1970`s nostalgia and it will mean more to people of a certain age living in the UK . It was very popular at the time and both actors moved on to even more successful careers . There`s some of ` The Lovers ` here on youtube ! And thanks for your funny contribution ! lol

  • @mohawk3881 hey Mo, I know and it was just funny posting it ...:-) take care and thanks for uploading this lovely interpRAYtation!
