Hey there Casey--a great way to get the bouffant area large without teasing or bach-combing is to take the inside section of it and create a large barrel-roll pin curl and then pin a smooth section over that to hide it. You can also use a rat :-)
@broadwaybound121492 It's similar to the "working girl" hairstyle video I posted today. The front is the same, but in the back I just twisted it up into a horizontal coil and pinned it like crazy! ;)
this tutorial is so much fun! i love it and you are too cool! i have really thick hair too---i found a boar bristled hairbrush helps immensely for backcombing (and it saves me from having to do it over and over again--my arms like that hehe). <3
You should do an old hollywood curls/waves video. I've been trying to master it and it's just not working and I feel like you'd be really good at doing that look!
@my10intellects I either gently brush out the backcombing, or I'll be sure to wait to do a backcombed style until one of the days I wash my hair--conditioner really helps release the tangles! :)
I read that you told another commenter that you are wearing Revlon's Kiss Me Coral. I have that lipstick too and I love it!! I love this 1960s hairstyle, even though I have short curly hair. Can you do a 1960s day makeup look and another 60s hairstyle for us with short hair? :)
@AdorableFlapper36 I'd love to do a makeup look--in fact I've been working on an idea for one! ;) Unfortunately, I have very little experience with short hair (my hair has been short only a few times!), so I won't be able to do a short hair tutorial though. I'm sorry! :(
I love the shirt you are wearing! The collar, the buttons, the lace-beautiful! Unfortunately I can't wear anything like that because it will just draw even more attention to my bust. :/

Do you have any suggestions for untangling the backcombed parts of the hair? I always find that to be the most difficult part.

You should do a Brigitte Bardot hairstyle. Thumbs up if you agree! :]
(Btw I love the simplicity and easy to follow instructions of your videos and your style is lovely!)

It goes straight to my favourites. I actually like it a lot right before you do the ponytail.

what kind of hairspray are you using?
MARLENIAMOSLEY 9 months ago
@MARLENIAMOSLEY I'm just using an Aussie brand hairspray--not my favorite! I prefer the Tresseme line of hairsprays.
