@MrCATesla I have not seen the movie yet, but the track u mentioned if it is the same in the movie, it is a reading of Quran Verse (Sureh)3 named Al e Imran- starting from Aye 33 (3:33) which is basically talking about the story of descendants of Abraham and birth of Mary and so on. I just know its beautifully mixed with percussions and other instrument, not so common tradition in persian/arabic urban/new age music.
Its more than a film - its pure, its reality - of course "our" dream come true, even in you dear and beloved "daughter of the sun", I miss you, I miss her, did you ever miss me? Xoxoxo Jalarhuddin Allah U Akbar Re
@MiaGilaani YES! There is one very good docu-film you would love...with scenes depicting the period and interjections from Sufi and other Muslim scholars, The Alchemy of Happiness is the story of Imam al-Ghazali, the most beloved Sufi theologian, philosopher and mystic...other than Rumi and Shams. The film can be found on Google Videos in its entirety. Go there and type in "The Alchemy of Happiness" or try this link - be sure to remove the spaces! ( h t t p : / / tinyurl . com / 4ppqfol )
i picked this movie looking for a criterion, at the public library around the corner and i was amazed. also i am amazed and appreciate these positive comments because it reminds me that there is depth in people. i believe the average person would prefer a mindless and shallow flick to deep cinematic art
I also fell in love with it once my German brother shared with me his favory; I also want to collect the film in english, did any body know how to get it? Thousands of thanks in advance!!!!
i saw this film in my world religions course and i absolutely fell in love with it. i never got ot finish it though! but i absoutly lovede very bit that i saw!
I saw this film and was mesmerized by it. The magical intertwined tales, the wisdom of the desert sufi vision about life. Something you can never find in hollywood commercial cinema.
One of the best and beautyfull works I have ever seen. This is the voice of my immortable soul - thanks for this remarkable fil - Allah U Akbar - youre a divine soul ...thutmosis iii
If you like this movie then you should start reading persian poetries from Rumi,Sa'adi, Ferdousi, Haafez, Shams, Attar.......and many tmany more to list. The bad thing is they lose most of their meanings when they get translated into another language. It would be nice to understand them in Farsi. I guess that's one reason that they used some Iranian actors and made it in Farsi (Persian) language.
Persian litterateur is an ocean of spiritual and real love. the only ocean that anyone would wanna sink and die in it when they discover it. I'm glad this movie could deliver a small portion of that ocean to the western world. it's really difficult to make the western people understand the reality of persian poetry and show them the right picture of it. life in the west is very materialistic and without moral values.
I am going to drive 600 miles to watch this movie. I'm very glad that I can understand Farsi, because there is something in their peoms that the subtitle can not deliver it to the viewers. Farsi litterateur is very rich and complex. specially when it comes to Rumi Poems and their deep meanings. I'm dying to watch this movie.
This is more than a film. It is a cinematic teaching tale. It can function on the level of that sort of Sufi contemplation device in which direct experience through contemplation of a parable is more important than preaching and didacticism. It is designed with careful artistry so that it is omprehended by the faculty of consciousness called "the heart" rather then by the intellect. The tradition "Die before you die" has never been so well conveyed. -- Joe (Yousef Daoud) Martin
I have just seen it...2 hours ago...That was amazing...I cried with the feelings that i cannot even explain myself... I even felt that I could understand without reading subtitles !!! which is not possible...I am deeply touched..
Bab'Aziz is a specuacular feast for the senses and the soul. Visually stunning and full of many of the classic Sufi story elements that those familiar with Sufi themes will know. Other than to say it is a series of stories within a story that winds upon itself delightfully, it would be cheating the future viewers for me to say anything more. Let them drink from this well what is meant for them. Bravo to these film makers
can someone tell me the song that it's starting at 1:23? Thanks!
