@TeamPlasmaSC nope this is classified as a standard definition camera. Not sure why anyone is interested in this unit any more, it's over a year old and there are much better units on the market that do do HD, are better quality in manufacturing and use.

I don't know how this guy got such good quality out of this camera but whoever is reading this I'll let you know this isn't a very good camera. It has decent raw footage but once you edit it, it looks bad, not horrible but bad. I'm not bad mouthing Panasonic but this is just from my experience, I've posted some videos and some look decent (I'm not trying to get views I'm just saying.) For the price you can find a better camera. Whatever you do, don't buy this if you plan on doing ANY low light.

@goaliemania what you're seeing in the video is straight from the camera, into iMovie and out again. I haven't done anything to the actual footage to make it look better. What you see is what I took.

@Siscalo Sorry you don't like it. It was just a test of the zoom and the quality, I just happened to be going to a regional music festival. I wasn't out to make an awesome video.

How did you get HD video from a camera with a maximum resolution of 640x480?

@adriansmithuk To be honest not sure how it came out so good, nor why YouTube is offering an HD version at 720. It wasn't when I uploaded it a year ago. I imagine maybe YouTube have upscaled the video?

@InpulseHD just because it's widescreen doesn't make it hd. i have a sony dcr-hc62 which is SD anamorphic footage at 720by 480

@AJShabbott Thanks sorry about the delay in responding, the video was only a test and I didn't actually expect it would be viewed by anyone. The guy singing is Ben Thomas of the band Kanvas Grey (Aussie band) taken at the Airey's Inlet music festival.

@altoidfart They put it into a video editor and rendered it up to 720. The video quality doesn't get better though.

i am intrested in buying one of these but i am wondering if the built in microphone is good enough to capture music from close range??

and also how clear the sound is and whether there is any distortion or noises that come out in the recorded video??

@ewigkase1 no, thankfully they have an ext battery now. should last longer and be upgraded to a longer one
