This is still one of my favorite endings... never got why people hated it so much. Whats wrong with it being a dream? The whole game was very dream-like. I really like the ghost-like outlines of all the character as the credits roll by and the music is really cool

@akaMouse Well since it was a dream that means that we never saved anything, Mario could die in a dream and it wouldn't harm anything, and it also means that if it was a dream then they should have been able to do whatever they want, so there was absolutely no threat, it's like going on a huge adventure to save the world and finding out that there was a magic button at the very beginning that could have stopped the boss.

SMB2 being a dream didnt bother me because over the course of the game I got to see an intriguing world with interesting characters- coincidentally the same reason I like my own dreams when I sleep at night. It doesn't matter that they arnt real. (I could take this further and say video games arnt real)

Also, am I right in thinking that this was only released in Europe, and that SMB2 (aka Lost Levels) was only originally released in Japan and the US?

If so, why does SMB2 (Doki) feature so heavily in the SMB Super Show? And they get the Birdo and Ostro the right way around! The Ostro is the ostrich; the birdo is the thing that spits the eggs.
