what do you intend on grinding it with? popcorn is so hard it will destroy your metal or stone grinder. It dosent make good corn meal because of the high starch...dent corn or as it is also caled field corn is alot cheeper and easy on a grinder and it makes better corn meal. you can also soak it in lye water and peel of the shell to make a soft corn you can eat hole...just some fyi..
You know packed with the mylar bags, it really wouldn't make much difference what you used to store them in. I actually didn't end up storing anything in buckets that was in mylar bags but just in big bins.
However, we did change how we eat to almost 100% whole grains plus local fruits and veggies. We order the grains in bulk and those we do store in food grade buckets. Thinking about preparedness changed the way we eat altogether to a healthier and cheaper way.
You know with our diving skills we could store things underwater ??? I have still been thinking of things that might need to be hidden that only I can go get, maybe over 100 ft ?? By the way I love your state wish I could move there. I dove Molikini crater about 4 years ago off of Maui Loved Maui the crater dive was lame but I know you have some better spots
Now that would be pretty james bond. It would be tough to find a place that would stay secure during the winter storms. I found an old lead keel washed up on shore the other day. Must weight 1000 lbs. That's the power of the ocean!
Well unfortunately, I do not have a problem with currents, waves and the power of the ocean, Missouri has a lot of quarries and lakes, some good rivers as well

Can I use a plain food grade bucket, or does it have to have that special rim on the lid? Thanks
Ps..I'm from Ontario, do I really need to prepare for disasters? I'm worried that the recent oil leak could mess up our economy, what do you think?
