I've been a fan of straight no chaser for a long time. This is the first time I've ever heard them do the national anthem and was slightly worried. They have a tendency to make something their own, but I love how they gave the song their own flare, showed off their talent but left the song intact and properly sung. Kudos to Straight No Chaser for leaving a national song as that and letting their vocals shine at the same time. Awesome Job!

my dad was in the Vietnam war, so yeah he told me about the people that would spit on him when he came back from there. like it was the soldiers fault for being over there.

Straight No Chaser is an awesome group that just made the big time with the release of their Christmas album. They are absolutely fantastic and really do have one of the most beautiful versions of the National Anthem I have ever heard. We are trying hard to get them in for the singing of the National Anthem for the Super Bowl.

I'm not sure exactly how similar/different Veteran's Day in the US is to Remembrance Day here in Canada. While the performances were spectacularly impeccable, I don't know if they really fit the mood of the occasion. At least for Remembrance Day, it's an extremely solemn time. Thoughts? The musicality is indisputable though.

I respect your point of view, its viewed as such here in the uk by most. I however feel we should celebrate and thank the veterans for what they did for us. There is no reason why you can't celebrate the great sacrifice and still respect them.
