it's on koster rd in Vernalis

  • where do u guys fish at or what is that rode call? and yeah if u use like the 5" jerk bait it works really well on strippers...lol

  • do you eat the fish?

  • pretty nice fishing little kid

  • is it legal to fish the california aquaduct? i live two miles from the palmdale california aquaduct.

  • @darlenejavi

yes it is. i live in Palmdale and go up there all the time. Just a word of advice try tp go in the summer when it is not that windy. it is really to fish there when it is windy

  • wat bait were u using?? plz write back

  • I use night crawlers with a small to med size hooks. I use a 3oz weight thats pyramid shaped on the btm. I use 2 hooks12 inches apart. let me know if that works for you.

  • can you plz tell me were that is

  • @fuckfalloutboy You can use night crawlers to anchovies. Heck a bunch of guys use lures and do really well on strippers. I have been approached by many fish and game officers and fishing is legal here as long as you have a fish lic. Some places post no trespassing and is posted no fishing, but it you can tell with locked gates with barb wire fences. Some though have bicycle access openings too. Ranger said yes can go thru to fish or ride. The signs are well posted where not to go Fish on friends

  • @fuckfalloutboy hey were is exactly is this place where u are fishing? i fish in lamont ,ca aqueduct off juntion 166

  • what bait were you using

  • Wow! Never saw an Eagle out in that area! WOW!!!

See them all the time at New Melones.

Do you think it would be a good idea for the kid to wear a life jacket when he walks to the open fence area?

    Cool video, though.

  • google map this address for the spot.

36650 S Koster Rd, Banta, San Joaquin, California 95304

  • Not even close. Out skirts of Tracy.

  • NO.. this part or the aqueduct as it leaves forebay lake by Santa Nella

  • This is the DELTA-MENDOTA CANAL, not the California Aqueduct. The Aqueduct has 4 flood gates and the fence is much higher, plus the water comes thru the flood gates at the Aqueduct, not on the side. I think u stopped yourself short if you thought that was th California Aqueduct. Drive west a couple more miles from where this video was taken and YOU WILL FIND THE AQUEDUCT!!

  • where is this exactly at? thanks

  • yea LA eats the sewage

  • it is a federal affence 2 fish a game fish with a game fish

  • No it is not only on certain fish... you can you live bluegill as long as you do not transport it that is perfectly legal

  • @rockmiah78 Actually, it is a violation of state law, not federal law. if it were federal law, NOBODY would dare break it.

  • can you tell me the direction to go to this location coming from sacramento?

  • where is dat at those aint gaits r they ??

it looks more like a dam than gates??

well idk i wanna know where thats at that kid caught a fish in less than a minute lucky it takes like 10 min or even hours to catch something in the avenal cutoff at the gates but sometimes the first cast and wait like 3 min u can get a fish quick it all depends

  • so where is this at??? i want to catch some catfish like that one...

  • u want big fish use big bait.... like gold fish feeders and bill gills..

  • gold fish are the kind , i use those off the break wall and kill bass left and right . . .

  • i went there today it was windy

  • This is not a sewer canal. It starts at the Delta in Northern California Bay. Its my understanding that thru the valley going south farmers use this water source to water their crops. It connects to San Luis Dam and continues south.

  • NO he not this is the california Aqueduct i fish here also but im from Bakersfiled this looks like its up north a little tell me if it is ....this is pretty clean water no human waste in these waters at all

  • looks like ur fishing a sewer canal

  • They way i was taught to fish at the canal was to fish the holes on each side of the aqueduct. Then the north side of the gate. Cast against current and let it float to the gate then pull in and repeat. Then cast into the whirlpools and let it float until the whirlpool pools it out. Then pull it in and repeat. The whole process on for one gate both sides is 45 minutes then go to the next gate. I've tried it over and over.

  • I am curious if anyone gone out there and tried this and what results.

  • what time of year is this, what month? Do you know if the gates are open and the water is running. I think theres more fish when the gates are open and water is running

  • Sorry i didn't answer your questions, the gates are normally always open. sometimes their really open and the water is crazy. along hwy 5 theres 2 canals. California and the Mendota. California is very deep and sometimes dangerious, but huge strippers. But like Sacramento canal by hwy 50 heading south is very slow moving. almost crawling. Theres monster blue gill, crappie and catfish.

  • where are u at?

  • This is south of Tracy, California. off of hwy 5. there are gates like this one all the down to southern California about every 2 miles or so. My shoe size is 12
