They only way you can do this is if you are somehow connected to the local network (of either the client or server), right?

This isnt for a server on a firewalled T1 network connected to a client on a private broadband card, correct?

You would see this if someone jumped on a free wifi and someone was packet sniffing, but not on private networks.

@BigDaveDeluxe77 If you can access the network and a user is on a vpn you can get to them.. but you have to capture before they connect... You can do an arp/ettercap isolate or if on wifi a dos/deauth attack on their client machine and that would knock them off and force a re-connect and you'll get that data..

Once you have that data you can easily login to their vpn and if it was a corporate network you now have access to that and could even mitm the whole company!
