  • Sheer genius! Thank you, Andrew Denton, for creating this concept!!! Love the Barry Crocker version with DAAS, also...

  • sooooooooo funny

  • I love Rolf!

  • ROFL with Rolf ... fair dinkum cobber

  • CinnAlla - as an Aussie I agree with you about the friendly rivalry between the Poms and the Aussies. Yeh you won the Ashes in 2009 but then you deserved them. Well done. I can assure you that most Aussies enjoy this tough but respected rivalry and respect the Poms (don't know about all those invaders you have there now though). At lets be honest as much as I love Rolf Harris and we claim him as an Aussie, his family did come here from England.

  • this is so wrong but at the same time so right and funny, rolf is a legend

  • Is he sane ?

  • @thescreamsmusic wth is wrong with you?

  • Excellent! Why dont more covers do less sucking?

  • Seemingly he had never heard the original when he did this version ... I prefer this one :^D

  • Why do I always end up calling Rolf, Rofl Harris?

  • Oooooohhh it makes me wonder lol

  • Rolf Harris, his band and 505 people think all that all that glitters is gold............

  • Will my band be the first metal band to cover this? o.0

  • Rolfis a god!

  • Like a lot. Rolf can really make any crap song sound good by putting a wobble board or digeridoo in it. Gotta love him

  • it takes a genius like Rolf Harris to make hearig this song bearable

  • Just love it i do....i had a wobble board :0)

  • I love how Rolf incorporates a didg into a 5 piece band and carries it off. Absolute legend in my time. Thanks to miss.Given for giving me all my thoughts! ;-)

  • Words with two meanings ... Bass, sow, bow, row, lead, bill ...

  • Is there any song that can't be inproved by using a wobble-board?

  • @Olaffbog Not if olf has anything to do with it

  • @Olaffbog dubstep back in those days.

  • Love rolf .

  • Definition of "Rolf Harris" is Talent.

  • Fantastic entertainer. A true entertainer.

  • Too Good

  • hahaha great :-)

  • cool

  • This was awesome. Sort of wished it was a full-song version but then again it would probably involve a huge Australian chorus.

  • I saw this performed live at the Adelaide cricket oval when the Rams used to play there.. :)

  • Rolf is a nice bloke, I wish him no ill but Christ, he's a massive, Aussie bellend.

  • I am a massive Led Zeppelin fan, and I know I should know better. But I love this version, I think even Robert Plant likes this version of Stairway to Heaven.

  • @Brooksy19811 It shows you how great Zeppelin songs are. They sound good no matter the format or arrangement.

  • Rolf's Got Talant :-)

  • I was in Australia '88-89 and saw this, thought it was brilliant. I remember a different band had to cover this song each week, but only this version stuck in my memory. I believe Rolf has played it at festival apprearances. The next most bizarre rendition was hearing it covered by a Colombian folk band playing guitars of assorted sizes in a bar in Bogota. Not a fan of the original, far to much air play an nowhere near their best song.

  • Nice looking gal that Miss Given.

  • Lol that guy is super trippy :)

  • This makes me so happy :)

  • yeah, its funny, no doubt....but it gets old really fast....

  • FAR superior to the lame original. Rolf breathes life into a dead body here!

  • @andrewbarnett give 1/2 of us live over here I think you will find hate is too strong. We don't hate the English anywhere near as much as the French, the Germans, the Russians or the Spanish hate the English. We like to pick on you, yes, but only in the way a younger brother likes to pick on the older brother he loves.

  • @ehtkhr....mate,our grandparents stood together, and died together, to rid the world of tyranny.......a bit of banter on th sprting field is fine, but deep down I think we have a fair bit of love (read respect) for each other......

  • The guitarist looks a bit like Hugo Weaving.

  • And it went to number 1

  • Miss Gibbon is hot :-P

  • @KingHaggis your retarted she looked like my grandma's foot :P

  • @kpfootball84 then I love your grandma's foot.

But I'm sure she's not good looking anymore, this was years ago :-D

  • @KingHaggis lol yah

  • lol rolf harris is a deadset legend! good on him!

  • bahhahahahaha :D our teacher showed us this in class, (music teacher, mrs ferguson) lol it is hilarious as

  • I can't stop listening to this what's wrong with me?

  • ... on their collective elbows ? hahaha ...

    Rolf is a legend !

  • good song i prefer it over the led zeppelin version it just sounds more genuine or something dont really know what

  • I wanna kill him

  • I suffered the ultimate humiliation with this....

When I was 17 and already playing drums semi-pro I worshipped Led Zeppelin. At that time if someone had told me I would play drums on Stairway with a guy who had it in the charts I would have been ecstatic!!!

Much later in my career I had the house band Hit The Roof at Butlins Bognor Regis. (Can you guess where this is leading lol?) I had to sit there on the kit playing this shite behind this Aussie twat! And as a person he was obnoxious!!

  • This is better than the Zeppelin version. lol

  • I'm glad to see that the Brits have got a sense of humour with their music to get this single to No.9 in the UK charts in 1993. Over here and in America the punters thought it was sacrilege for Rolf to 'massacre' this song.

I think that this version is great, though not quite as funny as what the Perth band The Beatnix did with it. ;-)

  • I did not just see that

  • Better than the original

  • Hes' a real talented guy - a total pro.

  • haha that was funny :)

  • this makes the original just about bearable!!

  • what a prick but i must be some kind of hypocrit because i sorta enjoyed it

  • Check out the other Oz bands and singers who did this on Money or the Gun also available to see on Youtube. The Far Gone Beauties, The Castenet Club and the Whippersnappers are my fave.

  • Best thing to ever happen to that awful song

  • ROLFL

  • simple yet superb, 2nd best thing to come outa OZ 'ol Rolf" the 1st being ur brave men who fought in the Wars!

  • There's a lady I'm sure, that I've mentioned before

    Yeah, I did, yeah!

And she's buying a stairway to heaven

Ha ha, good ol' Rolf :D

  • classic rolf xx

  • GOLD!

  • @eliminatethenegative

Utter genius! Led Zepp were always pretentious poseurs. Nice to see Rolf give 'em the treatment.

  • bloody legend!

  • Pure genius

  • this is hilarious

  • Great version. That canned laughing kills it though!

  • mmmmmmmm such a nice pink bum

  • The show has a studio audience. They laughed.

  • @djonusas well noticed.

  • Comment removed

  • @lennhart no lenny, I was there

  • Comment removed

  • @lennhart so i mixed the sound, i didn't add any 'canned' laughs, that's what. simple question, simple answer. no need to be rude

  • @djonusas Andrew Denton ended up releasing a CD with all the the different renditions of this song. And I didn't think it was John Laws who did it like a poem but Bud Tingwell. I could be wrong about that though. Rolf had never heard of the song before he was asked to perform it though. At about the same time he also did a version of the Rolling Stones classic Satisfaction complete with wobble board which was quite funny. Rolf certainly is a unique character.

  • @TheMackayboy indeed there was a CD with most, but not all, of the tracks.

The 'poem' version was read by Leonard Teale. It appeared in a MOTG programme about police, and the well-informed viewer may recall that Teale played Senior Detective (later Detective Sergeant) David "Mac" Mackay in the TV series 'Homicide. from 1965 to 1973. Hence the choice.

    daz

  • What TWAT Decided To Put Laughter in he Background!

  • @phantom2017 I suppose the live auidience, who laughed?

  • rolf the man

  • My Uncle actually prefers this to the original. True story.

  • Nice work dude, This man has got the tallent. Matching Led Zeppelin and How. Bhai this video is must watch for Led Zepplin fans.

  • Nice work dude, This man has got the tallent. Matching Led Zeppelin and How. Bhai this video is must watch for Led Zepplin fans.

  • can you tell what it is yet?

  • miss given? pmsfl. check out the mullett on accordian guy. 'kin brilliant,

  • Bloody brilliant!

  • im going to kill myself :|

  • It's a great version. Why are the audience laughing?

  • GARBAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • The only man who can murder Stairway to Heaven and get away with it!

  • rolf the best

  • rofl harris

  • Pure Genius

  • Probably the best cover ever! lol

  • LOL. What on earth possessed him to do a rendition of this? I heard that he apparently discovered the lyrics lying around somewhere and, not realising it was actually a Led Zep classic, just thought 'Hey, what a great song' I guess Rolph isn't a Led Zep fan then? LOL!!

  • @britecho this was a comedy programme and the producers asked Rolf to perform the song. every week the show had a different band, but they ALL had to play Stairway to Heaven

  • @djonusas and they also did Rage specials with all the versions of Stairway to Heaven.

    Happy 80th birthday Rolf

  • @djonusas

Hahaha. I'm not familiar with the program but that's hilarious.

  • @britecho There used to be a TV show on the (Australian) ABC called The Money or the Gun. Every week at the shows closing the guest band would do a version of Stairway to Heaven. The only rule was that it had to be an original interpretation. There was a spoken version read by John Laws as if he was reading The Man From Snowy River. This one, Rolf Harris' was by far the best.He followed it up with a record of other rock classica such as Wild Thing.

  • @Fenris1973 it was read by Leonard Teale actually, but your guess was close!

  • @djonusas Oh yes. So it was. I've only just recently heard Rolfs interpretation of ' I Touch Myself '. Pure genius, if not a little disturbing. I think Rolf is one of our most under rated comedians.

  • @Fenris1973 I was pretty impressed with the Barry Crocker version! My dad had the CD (stairways to heaven) and I just remember listening to it when I was about 7! I've never seen the videos though. So glad I found them!

  • @Fenris1973 I vaguely recall an album being released with all versions on... I also vaguely remember Page himself said he didn't mind a blues version someone did.

... or did I dream all that? :)

  • @britecho It was originally recorded for a compilation album, by various musicians, of tributes to Zep.

  • @britecho you're a half wit.

  • @eckoylu Based on what exactly?

  • What a weirdo

  • Loved it...the best freaking version of this song evah.

Stairway just does not sound right without the didgeridoo - accordion

  • John Boham dreht sich gerade im Grab rum

  • this is a classic . btw Miss Givings is hot.

  • Thanx for that laugh...was waiting for the change at the end though rolfie

  • Seeing Jimbo has nothing to do all night and day but post vids I thought I would add a bit of culture!

  • плант отдыхает

  • @LEONMOZZ plant rests? rests in peace? rolls in his grave?!

  • The man is a LEGEND!!!!!!!

  • The definative version, nice one Rolf

  • Loving this..

  • Didn't Jimmy Page start in a skiffle band after all?!!!!

  • Imagine the elevator door opens, and there's Rolf in there singing.

  • trust british paints sure can

  • "how does it affect you blokes?"

  • lol, i downloaded this song after watching this

  • Happy 80th Birthday Rolf Heres to you Knighthood

  • What a legend, all together now.......

  • epic!

  • ROFL

  • No, ROLF lol

  • rolf harris is a true entertainer, just watched him presenting have i got news for you and he is just so likeable, you got to take it lightly!

  • Haha I just watched it aswell :)

  • "nearly finished" haha

  • good old Rolf, give him a song n a wobble board n he will try lol

iv still got the cd single of this :D

  • Rolf Harris is AWESOME!!!

  • Better than the original. That's my opinion.

  • Yes is a horid rendition, but it's always an honor to get a Rolf Harris nod on your song. Like most of weird Al songs, they are truly horid, but they are nods to the originals, in a funny and demented way. Rolf Harris is primarily a comedy singer like Ray Stevens, Weird Al, Roger Miller, and so on. He also did this to entertain children as well.

  • Oh. Well, that explains it, thought he was serious. :P

  • Looks like you got some sand in your vagina and got a bit cranky.

  • Did a whole lot better in the charts too!

  • This was great !!! Just as much as Rolf is great !!

    (5*) Sherry

Thanks James for the share (bigeeezy)

  • didn't he get death threats from the Zepp hard core fans?

  • Rofl Rolf

  • I remember soon aftern I heard this watching Money or the Gun that a lot of rock fans kicked up a stink over this version, claiming amongst other things, "Stairway is sacred, how dare anyone mock it" At this point of time, I knew Rock and Roll itself had become part of the mainstream estabishment.

  • better than Pat Boone lol

  • Rolf Harris is brilliant. He is a credit to Australia and fair dinkum! Good on you Rolf.. keep going, we love you! XX0X and biggest hugs .

  • What a legend!

  • Great artist great singer and a fab entertainer. Aussies finest.

  • Anyone that mocks Rolf is missing the point. He is a bona fide genius.

  • @thememoryremains100 = faggot

  • @thememoryremains100 I agree, can,t stand Aussies and can,t stand Rolf neither and their gay accents.

  • @andrewbarrett42 You 'll get used it, I am also an Aussie and my relatives in the US cant understand a word from my mouth.

  • @ruantengyi I,m British.

  • @andrewbarrett42: If you are so evidently proud to be British, why don't you use the language in a correct way? Although they may look the same, an apostrophe and a comma serve two very different grammatical purposes, and are placed on different textlines.

  • @atomicbleep Stop being a pedantic old tart and let the British idiots be themselves and misuse the English language, and let us ENGLISH people get on with appreciating the music and entertainment.

  • @andrewbarrett42

    1) If you think Aussies have a bad accent, you should have a look at your own.

    2) Why don't people from the UK, such as yourself, have a sense of humor?

    3) I doubt you have met every Aussie, so stop flaming us.

I don't expect you to listen to me (you probably think i'm scum) but i'm sick of people from the UK thinking they are the best and thinking the rest of the world is their dumping ground

  • @fosy93 Aussies HATE the Brits, its well known.I would never visit Australia.

  • @andrewbarrett42

You know, I don't think that's true at all. I know loads of Aussies through ham radio and they're great, and we all get on really well. Of course there is intense rivalry about Cricket and Rugby and we Brits love it when England wins the Ashes Test series, but that rivalry just adds to the enjoyment of the sport. Heck, I even stand up when they play "Advaaance Orstrylia Fair" :-D

  • @andrewbarrett42

The England - Australia rivalry is actually probably the most healthy in the world, particularly in sport. I've certainly never met an Aussie who "hates" us, though there is always good banter which is usually good fun.

  • @fosy93 Don't judge all of the UK...just the English. :)

  • I FAP TO ROLF

  • he does stand up while singing now thats talent

  • he does art while doing stand up/ sit down, depending on how u look at it

  • good stuff

  • oh how does it makes you blokes feel?...oh it makes us wonder LOL!!

  • "how does it makes you blokes feel?" I had to restrain my father after he heard that.. the TV almost found itself borked

  • go the fucking aussie's!
