With enough pressure to relief and the right adjust the Type R can sound pretty close to the S. Just sounds a bit deeper, then again I was running a T-78 in my FD, now I'm downsizing to a TD-06 for response and I got another Type S again!!

If you do that it wont hold any boost since a small spring has no tension.

There is a better BOV then Greddys old Type-S, a new company NGR Performance, there on youtube: NGR Type-S, no bad reviews so far and I personally have one since last year when they started. They fixed problems that old greddy type-s had and improved it.

u tried to comment and make ur self sound smart..... congratulations but ur really wrong the spring soes not hold the blow off balve closed..... boost going to the vacuume nipple on the top of the greddy valve does all the spring does is help add tension to the force of boost holding the valve closed please go learn how car parts work b4 u try to sound smart....do this to prove to urself ur real smart...... unplug all vacuum lines (cap them off) going to ur bov and see if ur 2 springs hold boost

was your turned more to the soft or the hard adjustment? I can not tell the difference on what makes it sound louder. On mine I turned it harder and it got louder but i get an after-whistle. When it was soft it was lower and not as loud, seems like the opposite for me.

Ok, here's the deal. The more Boost you're running the harder the spring should be so it can hold off all the boost before going off when you let go off the gas. If you don't have a ton of boost running make it soft enough so it will still withstand how much boost you're putting through. It is actually a nut that you can tighten or loosen on the Top of the BOV. It should say soft and hard on it too. I've got a TiAL BOV.
