@NYCprincess7 I hate Laura, I much prefer Ashley..she looks waaay better and much more like a Mary Poppins than Laura. In my opinion Laura's nose is too up-turned for the part of Mary Poppins. Ashley Brown has a wayy nicer face and the best voice out of all the Mary's with out a dought.

@melodyjenkitten How can you say you hate Laura?! She's incredible and beautiful and her voice is stunning! I LOVE her nose - it's PERFECT. She's such a sweetheart and she's soooo talented. I love Ashley Brown too but I absolutely adore them both. I HAVE seen and met them both. They're both beautiful and talented and very nice. Don't hate on Laura.

I have written to Ashley and Gavin a number of times and sent S.A.E and the two of them could never be bothered to reply to any of my letters and send a signed photograph which is something i was very upset about and i think disney on broadway theatricals should look in to this to avoid other Ashley Brown and Gavin Lee fans getting upset.

i am no longer intersted in Ashley and Gavin after that. i think it is terrible!

A lot of times the letters never even make it to the actors. They have agents that filter everything they get and most of the time they just discard anything they deem "unimportant" so don't start bashing the actors before you know the whole story.

okay what you need to realize is that they get thousands of letters.you are not the only person who's sent in letters asking for things.if they at some point do get to your letter they might send you something. you have no reason to not like them unless they send you a letter saying they hate you and to stop sending letters which is unlikely. so calm your cuticles.

I prefer Laura Michelle Kelly's version of Mary Poppins better!! I didn't get to see Gavin Lee (I saw Christian Borle) but from listening to the CD of the London cast, I think I prefer Gavin!

@Simplysims001 yes they do have a giant parrot head umbrella on Broadway for this heavenly scene but it comes through the floor and Mary stands on the parrots head at the bottom while it spins. Its an amazing set piece. Ime suprised you have been able to see the show since your 110 years old accoring to your profile unless you went to the show with a zimmer frame.

Whilst I like Ashley Brown's beautiful voice, to a British ear she sounds like an American trying to sing in a posh British accent - it doesn't sound natural, and some of the phrasing is not accurate. In some parts she sounds as if she is adopting some of Bert's cockney phrading. So based on that I prefer the British Mary's. I saw Lisa O'Hare last week who was just fanstastic - the perfect Mary Poppins.

Unfortunately, no. They just recorded 8 songs in the beginning of the run for the Tony voters. It has been emphasized that because of the lack of wins, they will not be making one for a long long time. (If not ever...) Its really very sad, because so much has changed from London to New York.

But anyways, I'm more than willing to trade! =]

I'm British and some people do speak with an accent like that here, and Mary Poppins is supposed to be well spoken and educated. If you want to hear the best accent then come over to Britain. I just saw Mary Poppins a few days ago and it was fantastic!
