  • great music :D. i liked 1:46 most :) sounds kinda scary !!

  • i....love.....this.

  • I think Pink Floyd should have included something like this in their music... It sounds unusual but still musical. This is amazing. I didn't know music beyond semitones could sound so good.

  • wonderful! thank you so much for having done this :)

  • brilliant.

  • do you make those musics by editing 12 semitonal scale composition, or do you actually play the 24 microtonal piano?

  • classical music as quarter tone

  • Suena horrible!!!

  • I really like your stuff. It's nice that you seem to be on the orderly side of the microtonal realm. It's really difficult sometimes to understand the music of composers like Harry Partch etc. because a lot of times it just seems (though it most assuredly is not) disorganized and random. With your music it seems to be very orderly and thought out, and as a person relatively new to the quarter-tone scene it makes for an easier transition to a new way of listening. Thanks! Keep 'em coming!

  • This song is an embodyment of all that is forbidden to our diatonic ears, as much as some of us try to isolate these pieces from reality, we cannot escape the fact that they are very much there. A true piece of music is fabricated beyond the veil of modern conformity, and this seems to be one of the finest examples of the spirit of positive difference. I am thouroughly enlightened by this piece, and hope that the artist will continue to do the same for other practioneers of musical exploration.

  • So.....is there any form of notation for this?

  • @Zebeldarebel Yeah, it is simple.

You just add quarter sharps and quater flats.

  • @kratanuva725 ha what do those look like? :P

  • the coucarach is coming for you¡¡ And the alien trops will not surrender with just a simple "Raid". Give a reverence to the king coucharach. His name is "Bzssbzbzzzchiii", this song may be was dedicated to him. I Cant wait for the emperors Concerto. This kind of music is very new and exotic A new way of hearing, takes some time to understand.

  • this music is a trip!

  • This stuff is peacefully creepy to my ear. Makes me visualize a clown vending balloons in an abandoned graveyard. Love it.

  • You have a sensitive ear for color and decoration, this is my favorite so far...

  • Whoa! This is crazy, and I actually like it!

  • Wow, this is disturbing, scaring and great at the same time. I dont have a clue what it means, what I'm supposed to feel, but after listening to this I had tears in my eyes. 5* to you!

  • Ah this gives a great (ear)view, great composition Scott.

Thank you for sharing so much with us here! I love your creativity and talents.

Hope we will hear from you next year also... very very much! You are sensational and inspirational! And a great guy too!

Happy New Year my friend! Roeleke

  • Thanks, Roeleke. Sorry, I haven't been around in a while. Things have been pretty busy and I haven't been on YouTube much in the last couple weeks. Happy New Year to you! 8-)

  • Wonderful, 24tet sounds phenomenANAL!

I like that genre. I wait the day when someone will invent the 48tet piano!

    HAPPY NEW YEAR, Maestro DieselBodine!

  • Thank-you, scaleshort. Another 24tet coming shortly. 8-)

  • Hey Scott! I know it's hard for people to understand this type of sound, we are not accustomed to it. Music is an exploration into an almost infinite soundscape.

To me, I enjoy the more traditional harmony and melodic sounds, but I still think this genre has a place, at an evil carnival, where all the players are insane, music is suppose to make one feel something or it's meaningless.

I enjoy this as tops for originality and UR fearless endevour! 5 stars!

  • Hello, Bro D.! Once you get used to it, it starts to make sense to the ears. Acclimatization is the first step to accustomization. LOL & 8-)

  • @DieselBodine I agree

  • thats awesome D. Bodine WOW - although it brings back the thoughts of my final acid trip -yikes :)

  • Holy Smokes, 20MOJO20! Sorry if I gave you a flashback!

  • I love these pieces for the emotions they evoke. You should consider making an album out of them.

  • Hello, mwest. I think I may just do that once I have enough to fill a CD.

  • well Bodine,i like this a lot!vedy cleva deese bodeenians! :-)

  • Thanks, Freddy. I enjoy the challenge of composing this kind of music. After you work with it a while, it doesn't seem as odd.

  • Hi Scott, certainly interesting listening. I wonder why we have some rather fixed system like do-re-mi-fa-so-la-ti-do where this piano would somehow sound out of tune. Is it that our ears are just not used to the sound of a quartertone piano?

  • Hallo Frank. Our current way of associating pitches, one to another, is relatively new. In the past there were many different ''tuning systems'' that now seem out of tune to the modern ear. In reality, our present system is balanced in such a way as to make all keys as playable as possible, but it's still viewed as imperfect... though we've become accustomed to it.

  • Hi Scott, I say there are many ways that lead to Rome and this certainly one, I think it sounds very interesting and can Imagine a person dives into an relative unknown lake just to see where it will bring him, maybe he'll encounter some Monsters on the way but also Angels who'll give him new Wings to fly. A very inspirational 2009, Vic.

  • Hello Bro Vic. May the Angels of 2009 soar with you in all your exploits and creations! Hope you had a nice Christmas!

  • Yeah Brother Scott, all the best to you too and may 2009 bring you peace and further inner development, Greetings Maestro, Vic.

  • That will probaby be the only time I ever say that. I miss the old Bodine.

  • I eagerly look forward to more personal evolution and am enjoying myself along the way.

  • I don't like it.

  • Shucks

  • Very cool Scott! This music would be great in a scary movie scene! I love it! :)

  • Hi Karen. The Quarter-tones sure lend themselves to that mysterious, spooky sound. I hope to find a way to access other emotions, until then, I'll just go with the flow. 8-)

  • I love this kind of music when i'm taking photos! It gets me all abstract and crazy, lol!

  • Cool Felix. I'm glad you enjoy it. Maybe it could be useful as background music for a future photography video? 8-)

  • Now that's what I call a Christmas video.*****

  • Hello, Paul. Ho-Ho-Ho! Happy holidays to you! 8-)

  • thanks again. Do you have access to the pictured keyboard [where?] or are you actually performing with software?

  • Hello, AtheistCitizen. I've just been showing photographical depictions of various Quarter-tone Pianos. I decided not to make fancy videos that may be a distraction from the music. I'm using sound sample library software to achieve the Quarter-tone sound and parallel notation of 440=A and quarter-tone intervals
