Marquez could have changed his fight plan by putting more offense than before as Manny changed his by being smart and staying away from most of Marquez's counter punches (look at their faces after)... the only reason why the first two fight was a close one is because Marquez went toe-to-toe with Manny.. that's what was missing during this third rematch...
Points can be generated by being a great counter puncher like Marquez, but counter punching alone can only do so much to guarantee a majority decision. In boxing and so as MMA, judges almost always favors the CHAMP and a smart aggressor. Marquez stayed in his comfort zone by countering although he has the tenacity to take away Manny's rhythm.. It was a good fight, good boxing, but no winner. They have to fight again and fast, because Marquez is 38 years old. i think only Marquez has the stopping power vesus Pacman, his style which is aggressive counter-punching is Manny's waterloo. Marquez “You must beat the champ , to be the champ”. Counter punching challengers only really win close contests if they overwhelm their opponent, they do not win contests if they lay back and wait for the action to greet them at the front door.
If you are a champion and counterpunch, you are defending your title in a judges eyes and more consideration is giving in that event.
The scorecards, punches landed , and power punch numbers do not lie. Accept your lost and dont says Pacquiao robbed you.

Even if JuanMa was KO'd, all his fans will still think he's the winner. Same with Pacquiao. The solution is to put a computer program that can objectively give points. Can technology bring us that soon?
Put humans into any thing and there'd be no objectivity. No matter how much we deny it, we humans are always swayed by our emotions. There's no point in arguing who "truly" won. Next time, just watch the fight and skip the announcement of the winner.

Marquez could have changed his fight plan by putting more offense than before as Manny changed his by being smart and staying away from most of Marquez's counter punches (look at their faces after)... the only reason why the first two fight was a close one is because Marquez went toe-to-toe with Manny.. that's what was missing during this third rematch...

Points can be generated by being a great counter puncher like Marquez, but counter punching alone can only do so much to guarantee a majority decision. In boxing and so as MMA, judges almost always favors the CHAMP and a smart aggressor. Marquez stayed in his comfort zone by countering although he has the tenacity to take away Manny's rhythm.. Case in point, Manny lost his first fight with Marquez as the champ in spite of 3 KO...

@cslsjc2011 he did a good fight, but not enough to WIN a championship... to beat a champion and deserve the championship you need to utterly defeat the champion... his corner told him that he was winning so he didn't give it his all through the last rounds, that, for me, hurt him the most. If he gave it his all and knocked manny out, then he would have been the champion, but he didn't. Manny stood there all the time and gave him a hell of a fight as well. Both fighters looked very good.
