@musicboxmeup I think I'm gonna try that one day. Just to see how many people remember it. And my best friend has never seen it, so as soon as my DVD gets here, I'm forcing her to watch it with me. :) Then she'll get some of my references, and why I want to sing "I stand alone" for my senior solo in 2 years. ^.^ Yay spreading the joy of Devon, Cornwall and Garrett.
I know the Nostalgia Critic gave this film a bad review, but screw it. This movie is great fun. I watched it for the first time as an adult in my 20's and still enjoyed it. Guilty pleasure, I guess.
Oh hey, this like that one thing that Robin Williams did in "Aladdin", with the comedic references to modern-day elements that won't exist for hundreds of years, except when he did it, it was mildly annoying, but when YOU do it, it's torturously annoying...
You have to wonder if they actually planned it to resemble Alfred and Arthurs relationship, the special one that it is... XD i mean come on the british one, the loud obnoxious one? ohhh this brings me joy XD
When my sister and I were a little younger, we wrote out the words to this and sang it in front of our parents (she was Cornwall, and I was Devon). We had them in fits of laughter for about 5 minutes :D good times
I was watching this with my stepsister (who is only a year younger than me) and she told me she'd never watched this movie as a child and she didn't understand a single one of the references in this song. I weep for the deprived children of the world :'(

It's like Aladdin where the Genie made comedic pop culture references even though they won't exist for centuries. Except there it was slightly annoying and very entertaining and here it is very annoying and only slightly annoying
you just have to love these guys. this song reminds me of how i sometimes feel about my twin sister. but in the end the world is better with her in it. :)
"Oh dear it's learned to count!" lol I've used that line on my sister SO MANY TIMES!
Well, not lately, but you know. I am the only one who truly sees these movies for what they are; truly magical, life changing films! We bonded over them, and now they insult me and make fun of me for liking them at my age. Plus, since both my sisters are CONSTANTLY fighting, I can TOTALLY see them singing this together!
I used to watch this all the time when i was younger, and even now I still love it. I showed this to my sister and we always sing along to this part :D
before i knew this movie existed, me and my brother argued a lot. i grew up in britianso i have a british accent and my brother has an american accent. one day one of my friends heard us and said we sounded like devon and cornwall and i was like wth? then i found out what he meant. the interesting thing is i am the taller, thinner one of me and my bro.
I'm not going to say I hate this song (I definitely find it catchy), but it is so totally out of place in the movie. It's virtually the only place with all these pop-culture references.
