  • This is my favorite track on the Argo lp because it is a tune the Paul Whiteman Orchestra with Bix played in the 1920's but never recorded. It is nice to hear this recreation of it and discover it was a really hot number the way the band played it. I listen to Dick Sudhalter's hot cornet solo on this recording and whenever I hear it I try to imagine Bix playing that same solo or a similiar one on the Old Gold radio broadcast of March 26, 1929. Only I wish Sudhalter had used a derby mute like Bix

  • I remember seeing this band in Carnegie Hall in NYC in 1975. I have this record and another they did "Live in '75". Those were great days. Thanks for posting.
