My familiy is spanish and Im proud of having spanish influence, but Catalonia is not Spain, nobody spoke in spanish here before the wars and dictatorships...
The prove is that Catalonia has a catalanist democracy, not spanish (and we voted to stop plundering taxes by spanish goverment).
@Perijol Gibraltar (at the south of Andalusia) is from UK by respecting self-determination (like it happened few weeks ago between Cameron and Rajoy), Catalonia and Euskadi should also have the same right. Antoni Gaudí was an strong catalan independentist.

Girona is the capital of the province, the same name, belonging to the Spanish region, Catalonia. Its historic district is filled with traces of stay in the past, other peoples and civilizations, especially the Jews and Arabs.
