  • .....The Sentiment of this song.....So Human... From The Heart......

  • BTW husband is cute too.;-)

  • keep coming back for more. just got me teareyed. even though you turned 65, you re still my favorite, most talented, adorable and cutest frontman ever mr justin hayward! got the whole moody blues discography from dear husband for Xmas. we ve been your fans since 1967.

husband is a neat and beautiful human being, just like you justin. ...and i dare say like all real moodies fans. class.

  • I think this guy was plugged into something great and mysterious but oh so tangable

  • i agree Wolfgang. One of Justin s most beautiful. This song still moves me and justin s voice still amazes me. tks for the upload.

  • Such a beautiful song! So innocent and sweet!

  • Sensitivity, our path with the song, our heart fully engaged

  • Quite right puseye8. In the year 2525 by Zager and Evans was released about the time Children's Children was released. I could not care less if I never heard 2525 again, which was a hit like no MB single ever was. I believe no MB single made it to No 1 in the US until 1981 . As I said people bought the albums because they knew they would get a proper 45 minute listening experience rather than a 3 minute grab. PS Saw them in Melbourne Nov 24. Extraordinary and the flute player was just perfect.

  • @trufflehund

Absolutely. They were indeed an album band. However, after Seventh Sojourn I lost interest in what followed. Working for London Records (who distributed Threshold Records in Canada) had it's perks. I had the privilege of attended many Moodies shows. Mike Pinder was amazing. I wish he had stayed with the band. Nevertheless, It's Up To You still brings a lump to my throat. The Moodies are without question one of the greatest "supergroups" of all time.

  • one year ago they where in Amsterdam and they played amazing good live !

Me and my dad enjoyed it so much SUPERRRRR

  • @PietPassword Yes, it's from the opening of On The Threshold Of A Dream, the album after the one that "Voices In The Sky" is on (In Search Of The Lost Chord). "Keep on thinking free."

  • The Moodies' music was a gift from above

  • Why did God make Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga?

To keep idiots away from the Moody Blues.

This band did not sell singles, they sold albums. No dud songs, almost every one a gem. The bling covered fools who run music now do not understand why this band are listened to after 45 years and will struggle now that talent is back to being a pre-requisite for musical success. This will be the saviour of rock music. Artists will need to be good at live music to survive.

  • @trufflehund

Well, they did have singles. Tuesday Afternoon was the first. Ride My See Saw, Candle of Life, Question, The Story In Your Eyes, Isn'y Life Strang.....

  • @Puseye2 their first hit single was from '65, called "Go Now". Justin Hayward wasn't in the band at that point, I think the bassist John Lodge wasn't either. After they joined, things really picked up and in '67 they released Days of Future Passed, from which came the timeless singles "Nights in White Satin" and "Tuesday Afternoon".

  • @Duendito

That's correct. I remember selling these titles when I worked for London Records in Toronto. After "Go Now" Deram, released another track called "From The Bottom Of My Heart" It failed to chart in America.

  • @Puseye2 they had a few great singles pre-DOFP. "Think About It", and "Fly Me Straight" being my 2 faves from the pre-Justin era.

  • @trufflehund

Justin Hayward is a musical genius and an angel! I don't know who Justin Bieber is and Lady Gaga is a freak show.

  • @trufflehund god didnt, it was rednecks who watch the disney channel

  • @trufflehund why did you even mention them

  • Voices are so beautiful.

  • The Moody Blues were the sountrack at the time of my life when I was on a serious spiritual quest in Hawaii. All their music at that time reflected my thoughts and questions. I've had some interesting mystical dreams about them, as well. They are not ordinary singer/songwriters. The cut to the soul of us, to the heart, and pry open what lies deep within us..these questions about life, and God, and so forth. For that's where the bliss lies..once one gets started, there's no turning back.

  • @grannynara What was interesting is that in an interview, Justin said, "just because we asked the questions, people thought we knew the answers."

  • I used to have all their albums when I was younger. Just fell asleep on the

couch feeling lonely. I woke up with a phrase from one of their songs singing

in my head so now I am here listening and trying to remember which song these

few words came from. They had so many songs- "all the love you have been

giving was all meant for you"..or something like that..any help out in music land?

  • @doula2010

    The song is "Question", enjoy.

  • @tbird914 One of their very best singles!!!!

  • Haven´t heard this since the late 60´s and I remembered the words! It is still one of my favourite MB songs. Thanks for posting it.

  • @BodegaPoveda agreed, great great song.

  • One of my favorite groups. They somehow made you feel that you just opened a door into a world where the answers to man's questions were revealed by just observing life, and through expressions of love and connecting to another human spirit. Fantastic. Thanks for the posting.

  • IMHO one of the10 greatest music videos ever.

  • On there albums all the name of songs are set in paragraghs. If you know what I mean

  • This isgods gift to those who love music

  • to me this song is like an adult lullaby...now i can get some sleep...i love you justin forever and ever and ever!

  • I said it a while back...but Justin

has the voice of an angel...

  • ...you were such a cute young lad Justin...Happy 65th birthday mr Justin Hayward!

Thank you for amazing 45 years of beauty. God bless you. peace.

  • this is so silly... in the best possible way

  • This song really takes me back to my teenage years. A few good friends gathered around an LP record player with the fragrant smell of incense filling the air. I saw the Moody Blues once in concert, back in 1986. I was 16 years old and while many of my friends were listening to heavy metal/hard rock...I knew what good music really was. I haven't smelled that sweet incense in over 20 years...but this music hasn't chanced a bit...timeless. It was amazing...simply amazing...and it still is.

  • @Just1SimpleMan LOL you remind me of me! Ha.

  • Justin Your Music your Talent and Gift still rings so gratefully in my ears and the loving thoughts in my mind. Your special

  • I used to have the albums "Every good boy deserves a favour" and "On the treshold of a dream" long time ago. Played them till they were scratched and now I think they are in a box in the attic.....shame, I forgot all about MB, thanks for sending Peter, felt like meeting old friends again.

  • If ever there's a band that could represent humanity in its purest state, I would choose the Moodies, and maybe closely followed by Pink Floyd.

  • beautifully done...i loved the colors...now i can go to sleep...i saw justn's sweet face look at me when i wanted him to...how dd he know? I love you justin...forever and ever and ever and ever...your soulmate...

  • I like!

  • does anyone know of the moodie blues with the words to the matter of...talking out of turn in them....this song was one i listen to while being stationed in germany in the early 80's...i would like to use this song for my sister's memorial service in sept....she has passed away after a long illness with cancer....please if anyone know's anything about this song...let me know...rkellogg10@yahoo.com

  • @quazimoto2011 Talking Out of Turn was on the album Long Distance Voyager

  • steve1861 and twinklebear22, you have a very good take on the Moody Blues. Thanks for your thoughts. (aka davidfaubion & grundyman26). As for the guy with the Halo and the chip on his shoulders, you bring a dumb downer diss to this discussion. Lighten up!

  • steve1861 and twinklebear22, you have a very good take on the Moody Blues. Thanks for your thoughts. (aka davidfaubion & grundyman26). As for the buy with the Halo and the chip on his shoulders, you bring a dumb downer diss to this discussion. Lighten up!

  • This was my Dad's favourite song of the Moody Blues and when he died 31 years ago, we played it at his funeral...

  • I think I am in love...or in lust lol

  • How many award winning bands have faded into oblivion? A true test of talent is staying power. The Moodie's were ahead of their time in the 60's, but damn few of us knew it back then..

  • James Brown couldn't get enough of this song.

  • Great to listen to on Acid. I dropped my first tab while listening to this song. That and the song Legend Of A Mind (I think that's the one about Timothy Leary). Who says pot affects your memory?

  • @durdle1701 How very, very unimpressive. Another druggie's views on... whatever. Who pays attention to losers.

  • @Halo101st Yes, I've seen the losers you psudo-intellectual eggheads put through your schools. They can't write, can't spell, and graduate with no people skills. Remember asshole, this was 40 plus years ago. It certainly isn't what I am today. So before you lable me a "druggie" take a moment to use that overeducated brain of yours and think that it might be a humorous statement on the times.

  • Comment removed

  • @Halo101st You're the one who called me the druggie to start with.

  • @durdle1701 MICHAEL TSARION IS THE WORLDS PREMIER CONSPIRACY RESEARCHER/LECTURER/AUTHOR. DR. BILL DEAGLE, LEO ZAGAMI, JORDAN MAXWELL AND ALEXANDRE DUMAS PERE ARE HIGHLY INFORMATIVE AS WELL.

  • Justin is a gorgeous man with the most beautiful voice. <3

  • I love this song, reminds me of my messy drug fucked youth, and my poor dead dad....Miss you dad.

  • I'm not an arsehole, just a human being who deserves some respect.

  • A very beautiful melody! The Moody Blues had a very unique sound all their own. I have seen them in concert in the mid 80's and the 90's. One of my favorites!!!

  • yes and don't forget .. it was the best tripping music...:)

  • Magnificent music indeed , rarely heard today .

  • What a beautiful voice, Mr. Hayward!

    Love you!

  • I believe it was "Don Rose" from KFRC AM San Francisco. one of the highest rated stations in the U.S. in the sixties. Called the Moody Blues "The Sistine Chapel of Rock".

I always thought the Moody Blues to be one of the best bands ever. Anywhere.I still listen to their music every day.

  • I am 26 and I love this band. I great up listening to 60s music... mostly garage music. Thank god my dad brought me up on this instead of the crap the radio plays or the top 40.

  • It has an otherworldly quality not reached by other artists ; sort of spiritual and ethereal. It's breathtaking

  • From ay one I've been able to rely on the Moodies to provide great songs and fantastic backing music. When other group s come and go they stay there as the shoulders of giants that others stand on. Very few groups can hope to emulate their record. Long Live the Moody Blues.

  • I'm the Worlds biggest Arsehole acccording to my family but I'm listening to some beautiful music!!!

  • @Feisty1967 not just your family thinks that.

  • @Feisty1967 " I'm the Worlds biggest Arsehole acccording to my family ..." It's not just your family that thinks that.

  • @TDAForbes What is your fucking problem?

  • my father's music. totally brought up with it. just wish i had my own children to share these life- important songs with

  • Playtime is nearly gone. Bells about to ring.

  • Some here speak of Lady Gaga and others I do not recognize and my response is who? Compared to the Moody Blues, they do not exist.

Just because they are contemporary (root word: temporary) does not mean they are good. They are just what you unfortunate younger people are told are todays "stars," and you are forced to listen to that trash masquerading as music. Sad.

How fortunate we were to have groups like The Moody Blues in another more interesting and exciting era.

  • @Halo101st the best reaction on Youtube !

    well spoken mate (;

  • @AeronDylan Thank you for taking the time to read it.

  • @Halo101st Your welcome (;

  • 12 year old girl and liking this stuff lol

  • Great song from a great record. The video is simple and artistic and doesn't get in the way of or try to interpret the song for you like modern overblown MTV fare. The song has subtlety, feel and recording values sadly lacking in today's mainstream suit approved music.

  • I love Justin Hayward. Um, that hair, I'm wondering if Justin Bieber, might have been influenced.

  • Their music is best listened to with headphones. They'll take you "there."

  • @53moreHP Got that right. :-)

  • @53moreHP called "Headphones Only" type music, also put Pink Floyd, Robin Trower,Jimi Hendrix, and Rush in that mix. As far as Moodies, Justin Hayward has to have just about one of the best voices of anytime

  • @BLUESMANRONCHICAGO It kind of funny because right before I came here, I was listening to Trower and I had made the same comment not long ago that headphones are a requirement when you listen to Trower. And not those little earbud type but a nice set (if possible). But I actually believe all music should be heard on headphones because there are so many parts of a song that are missed without them. Once you hear what you have been missing, you never take them off. It's like night and day.

  • Eat your heart out, Lady Gaga!

  • @puseye Lady Gaga can play instruments, read and write music and sing. I can't get past the weird stuff. If it weren't for that, and this electronica noise/bs, she'd be okay. It's Katy Perry and Justin Bieber I wish would take very long walks off of extremely short cliffs.

  • for the only voice i ever hear

    ;x x

  • Who ever said flutes have no place in rock never new Quicksilver, Moody Blues and if you still doubt ask the Tull

  • @WRI2012 don't forget the marshall tucker band

  • @cloudjia Thank you so much for such a kind comment!! I do so love this band!! They are pure perfection and brilliance!! :) ♥

  • Another great Moodies song. I too have had the pleasure of growing with their music. Justin Hayward is an extemely talented songwriter and singer, as are they all. Graeme Edge is an amazing poet. John Lodge, a wonderful all round musiian and Ray Thomas posesses one of the most beautiful tenor voices, and his artestry wi the flute is legendary. He is deeply missed. I had the pleasure to see them (again) a few years ago and the Moodies are just not the same without him. Blessings to them all.

  • Wow no one can match this band, truly amazing they are. Diversity of the mind is such a great gift.

  • @PietPassword close enough (and keep on thinking free) ^_^

  • how come a singer who doesnt know me at all , doesnt know my wishes - has hit the target perefctly ! this is ART

  • This music is so soothing, perfect to de-stress to.

  • @Feisty 67...Hey ,guess he was definitely good for something..the Dog! He gave you a wonderful gift. Good luck with the next one. :-)

  • An ex-boyfriend introduced me to this music, i had never heard it before. Horrible man , but such beautiful music!!

  • Voice of an angel and the face of an angel

  • i listen to moody blues loud on my 6 12 inch speakers while i do drive bys with the head lights off

  • I want what they were smoking

(nahh jk i love the moody blues)

  • THE OLD SONGS HAD CLASS AND MEANING

  • The Scouse man who introduced me to this song gave me the best cuddles ever! Shame he was married, he gave me the best cuddles I ever had.

  • and The Moodys are not in the Hall of fame because according to the Hall they are not a "pivotal moment"

  • Very few serious covers for any MB songs. Always at the top of my list of faves. Still are.

  • ....Legends.... From The Beginning....

  • Poetry to Music. Sublime.

  • Best words written by a band. None better.

    Joe D

  • The most beautiful voice I've ever heard! He's hot too.

  • During the 70's it was fashionable to criticize the Moodies as pretentious and boring. They definitely were not the critics favorites. That's probably why they're not in the R&R HoF.

  • @jab3785 But Alice Cooper is. Go figure.

  • @fatheroflatus What is even more comical is that Alice Cooper is far from the least talented of those canonized by the self-annointed !!! Read the works of William Blake: There are always the self-annointed (The Elect), the arbiters who have been elected by God to announce who has been Redeemed (in addition to themselves) and who is a Reprobate (eternally Damned). In a fallen world (Rolling Stone & the R&R Hall of Fame are money-making businesses), to be a Reprobate is a Badge of Honour.

  • These guys sure sound a lot like Slayer, I think they tour with them.

  • What a gorgeous voice Justin has. He sounds really good live also, which very few rock and roll artists do. I heard him on XM live and was amazed.

  • A fan since '68.....The Moodies music has always been a spiritual experience for me...

  • Wow! what can be improved on? This video captures every feeling known to anyone with a romantic heart!

  • Thanks to YouTube the fan bases of the all-time best bands will only grow. Hail the TUBE!

  • An obscure (to many) song from a band with a handful of "hits". Okay, so why have 428,000 people taken the time to watch this? What's going on here? Just joshin'...either you are in the fold or you're not. R&R Hall of Fame judges are not. Never will be. Folks, this is ours to enjoy. Thinking is still the best way to travel.

  • Voices, like hearing from a long- lost lover without being able to see them .....

  • i was born mid '75.. when my parents wanted to get thier "freak on" and keep me "all shut the fuck up" at the same time they say they would put these guys on at around half volume, and the only time id make a sound for anything was when dad had to get off mum to flip the lp.....

  • His voice is burned into my brain forever!

  • I actually got into a fight at a MB concert in the early 70's. How idiotic is that?

  • One of the songs I karaoke often. Now you know

  • I love this song so much!!

  • The most beautiful sound from a beautiful man !

  • I love this song, it's very calming and soothing.

  • Miss Katherine Anderson, To know You is to Love You, forever Katherine. Isn't Life Strange? The Sound of the Sea calling Katherine to me. Voices in the Sky...

  • The Hall of Fame is in your own mind.

    Love what you love.

  • Playtime is nearly gone - Bells about to ring

  • Do not worry, justin is one of the greatest.our hearts should not fail.

  • Maybe my favourite song of Moody Blues. Most of them are in a splendid autumn-like mood, while this one I always associate with spring.

  • I've seen the Moodies 4 X .In 1972 At KCMO the off duty police came and sat down and drank in these excellent musicians! Shame on The R&R H of Fame! They have really F***** Up!

  • Oh Justin..'.Nuff said!

  • Great Band, great song. rockncleve said it all....

  • brilliant band

    brilliant songs

    brilliant music

    brilliant lyrics

    brilliant arrangements

  • My fave song from the Moodys. I couldn't have put it better than rockncleve! If you wanted a psychedelic song, this was it!

  • THE DAYS OF VOICES,,, i HEAR YOU VERY WELL,,,

  • Another absolutely beautiful song from The Moody Blues!! I had the privilige of growing up with them and their music! Such amazing beauty and real meaning and emotion in their songs. So powerful ! Just reaches deep into your soul! They have touched souls of the past and still touch souls today and that is just magical indeed. They dont make music like this today and that is a real shame. The Moody Blues are truly a phenomenal band , a band all their own!!! Amazing! I love it all! <3

  • @twinklebear22 not that it matters, but im a 36 year old black man from north philly. never been exposed to the moody blues. i was just watching life on mars , there was a song of theirs playing in the background , i used a app on my phone to see what the song was. i ended up here .

im a instant fan. ive been a hip hop fan all my life , twinklebear , i have to agree with you . this is some good shit !!!

  • @grundyman26 Welcome to the club, dude. I'm from Germantown.

  • @grundyman26 Hey grundy! Welcome to the club! Suggestions: New Horizons, Im Just A Singer In A RocknRoll Band, Nights In White Satin, The Story In Your Eyes just to name a few. I would also suggest getting the "Days of Future Passed" album on CD, alter your mind with your substance of choice, and listen to it all the way thru; it is one of the greatest albums ever

  • @grundyman26 Oh can I get an AMEN?!?!!!! HALLELUJAH!!! Oh what a journey you have begun!!!! If only you were a pimply-faced kid saving up your allowance to ride your bike downtown to snatch up the latest Moodies' LP when it came out, then you could zoom home with it, open it ever-so-carefully, and in your secret little place, gently lower that needle down and AHHHH!!!!! Magic!! Oh they have such a vast treasure-hold of music!! It all goes straight into you like magic, changing you, oh Jesus!!!

  • @grundyman26 Exactly. It's great to find new stuff, even if it's old.

  • @grundyman26 Good-feeling soul music defies all boundaries....

  • @grundyman26 I just became a fan too! I was listening to Simon and Garfunkel and ended up on a Moody Blued video. So deep. I'm a 34 year old female who listens to a lot of different music; I don't know how I never heard of these guys.

  • @mfion WOW, never heard of "Nights in White Satin" even? Well, welcome to their world!!

  • @Duendito Thanks! I've been listening to them since this post and they are a soothing presence for the soul. :)

  • @grundyman26 this is beyond description, beauty beyond belief.

  • Voices in the Sky will forever have a special meaning to me related to my Mum after she passed away. Thank you Justin Hayward for writing this song and singing it so amazingly. well.

  • awesome

  • ....Legends .... From The Beginning.....

  • Comment removed

  • ....legendary ....From The Beginning.....

  • Moody Blues lifted the hearts and awareness of this world..wonderful times were had listening to these songs and discussing the lyrics..opening to consciousness..something that is lost now..Moody Blues is BIGGER then the ROCK N ROLL HOF..they are idiots..Moody Blues are and always will be VOICES IN THE SKY! Peace Out! :) Flower Power!-

  • I love the Moody Blues - one of my favorite groups of all time - and this is both a lovely song and a beautifully done video. Thanks!

  • This song always makes me drift away! The Moodies are soooo underatted! Their music makes me happy!

  • ever since i heard "The Night" a few years back i knew these guys were different then the other 60s/70s bands i have come acustomed to like like The Doors (my favorite) and the Stones. Its not a bad different, ooooh no. They are the latest band for me to explore and get into, and im punchin myself for not doing it earlier. Right now my list goes as this

    1. Doors

    2. Pink Floyd

    3. Beatles

    4. Rolling Stones

    5. Moody Blues

by the end of the week they could be ahead of the Stones

  • @goeagles86 also explore Blood sweat & tears, early Chicago (when they were Chicago transit authority w/ orig guitarist Terry Kath), Doobie bros (pre-mike mcDonald), early Heart (orig line-up), Firefall, don't just limit it to the 60's, the 70's had many great bands, early Elton is the best, Cream, Yes, & one of my all time favs.

The Allman brothers ( 1st 4 lps, but even after that they changed a bit but still were great.)

Deep purple early w/ Ritchie Blackmore from "hush" up to 1975

  • The Moody Blues is one of the most underrated musical groups in today 's music world. It is really a shame that they still have not been inducted in R&R Hall of Fames. They are probably the first musical group that employs orchestra assembly with their songs. They are truely the pioneer of a so called "Rock Opera" music.

  • This music reminds of of my cat that died recently...

  • I love this song...its pure of harmony...full of life....

  • This video is a playback of the original track. But it worths to listen this wonderful melody...

  • Hey there Justin Hayward fans. Catch Justin starring in The War of the Worlds Musical, the Jeff Wayne version live on stage! • lovely song great band

  • This has got to be one of the best bands of all time. There is none that compare with them. They are unique.
