  • Balisongs are illegal to carry, not own. I live in CA. Check my vids.

  • so let me get this straight. a knife that is designed to operate via your thumb is perfectly legal, but a balisong is illegal because it can be 'quickly manipulated by a single hand'???

    MAKES NO SENSE...

  • Is Iowa a state?

  • they should have made the handles of steel and put a zytel liner inside so that your blade wont get dinged up,

    thanks for the vid,

  • california sucks iowa is better

  • Just picked mine up yesterday, I agree that the fact that it gets easily damaged sucks, I'm glad Cold steel used such a light, soft aluminum for the handle, There could be worse steels to use. On the subject of it being a bad knife? I disagree. It's a pioneer design on a loophole that allows average joes to have a neat play knife, It was never really produced in super large amounts and on top of that its discontinued. I'm proud to own an Original Triple action and cannot wait for improvements.=D

  • Great video. I had an incredibly hard time finding one of these for sale online and the lady from CS I talked to just recently said they've never really put these out in any volume and they are completely discontinued. Sucks because it's a really cool knife and a ton of websites still have it listed for sale, but won't actually sell it to you. What's the point of having a website if you don't keep it updated?

  • Reading the comments here, California law has worse things to worry about. Can't any of you even spell?

  • balisongs are legal in california if your not in the L.A, county so you can buy butterfly knives look at the laws if you dont beleave me.

  • the cops cant aresst u for having a butterfly knife. if u carry it on u then they can. but if u dont have it on u nothing will happen

  • @liteduke72 actually in california, if the blade is bigger than 2" it is illegal to posses in cali, even if it is on your property.

  • @liteduke72

Actually even having it on you is ok. Its completely within my legal rights in California. I checked and made sure. In fact, you can even buy them here at Malls.

  • Mother's Aluminum polish can brighten up that handle again. Looks like the inside of the flip handle could use a delrin strip on the inside to protect itself from the tip of the blade. Good review, I was curious and now I know it's not worth the money. Looks like it might be fun to play around with for novelty though. If I find one for cheap I can use it for a toy. Thanks again!

  • hey you.isn`t forbidden in california ?

  • aww mann.... now im a little disappointed, but thanks for the tips in this video, i now know i really shouldnt pay the high price for this knife.

    good video, and thanks again

  • I got a VG-1 Double edge for sale or trade as pictured in video, but in far better condition. Send me a message if interested.

  • I bay one triple action (tanto) today for 950 HKR in Croatia...

    very good knife..... :)

    i love cold steel...

  • so can you carry it in ca? legally I mean.

  • From my understanding of the law, the single sided knife. (Tanto Tip). The double edge is a little tricky depending on city. If an officer were to ask you about the knife, just show him how to open it with the thumb stud.

  • @MajorMalphunction but aint double edged blades that are bigger than 2" illegal?

  • Misused????? your kidding me

thats like benchmade refusing to replace a pivot on a BM42 cause you were flipping it ......damn

least they could do is resharpen it

  • Yeah. The edge of the tanto tip is really messed up. I'll probably try again in a few weeks. It's been months since I've touched that knife. :/

  • disappointment of the century this blade for me , and your right , consumerblindness

  • Yeah, I was naive and gave into the hype of the knife. I called up Cold Steel and they said that they can't service it because it's "Misused" I've been reluctant of CS since then :/

  • @MajorMalphunction more like cold "steal" your money. i don't buy cold steel knives anymore anyway...

  • how much u pay

  • Too much :/

  • NIce review. Thanks

  • You're welcome :D

  • Hi.I brought this knife as a gimmick knife,I knew it's not worth the money i payed for it.everything you say is right. The blade comes loose.

  • Yeah... :/

I don't think CS would service it for you but you can try. At the most you can just tighten it yourself. Again, I've realized that the aluminum handles are not as strong so I would like them to be when it came to tightening them.

  • paid

  • Paid?

  • Must SUCK to live in California. Stupid liberal state. That knife is a piece of shit anyway. Any good knife has a carbon steel blade.

  • The blade is good. It's VG-1 Steel. The design is what sucked the most D:
