  • @moizeus i bought the game in a store, lol, not by internet, anyway, its the same, send me ur MSN and i can tell u what patch to install, then u can play oline

  • this game used to scare the shit out of me when i was little

  • This was my 1st game that i played n ever since i became a gamer

  • 4 people are godless.

  • My favorite. Even now in the age of modern games.

  • this game was my childhood

  • @nooblet911 Hahah yeah it is pretty hard, there are no difficulty settings that I know of. I am guilty of saying "G*d fucking dammit" a couple of times when I see a crap load of silverbacks and hellspawns start flying at me and all I have is 2 manahoars and a fire troll.

  • i bought this and never played it past the tutorial. I blame HOMM3.

  • Glory, glory, glory to GOG!!!

  • epic game indeed; should be in top10 of games of all time imo

  • I find it magical, but I also think that its got a bit problematic controls and is hard (I hope no fanboys thumb me down)

I'd love to see a sequel, though

  • I still have to complete the game, I'm gathering the courage to do it, ha ha

  • @nooblet911 The reason it's on GOG.com is because the original company will no longer sell it or support it. They fix any problems with the game (they do programming on the game itself) that they are able to and then they remove the DRM from it, and sell them to those who cannot get these games to play on modern systems (Microsoft is notorious for having horrible backwards-compatibility ("Buy the upgrade")).

  • @nooblet911 Which means that the game is no longer being developed further. GOG tries to preserve the classics and, well, good old games of yesteryear.

  • @GoG4o2 Well top 100, but I agree

  • Epic Game

  • does it have onlline

  • Yes it does :)

  • Yep!

  • Great game, I played the hell out of this when it first came out. Some missions are really frustrating but overall it's a masterpiece.

  • It is quite simply one of the most original and addictive games of all time. The learning curve seems rather steep to some, but it's well worth it. On top of that, it has more replay value than most games out there.

  • "The learning curve seems rather steep to some, but it's well worth it."

The thing that used to fascinate me about this game is that it's actually very easy, in single-player mode. The enemy wizard AI isn't merely weak--it's actually broken. There was a way to set your wizard to AI before a multiplayer game, and when you did that, you could follow the AI wizard with your camera and watch it prevent its creatures from attacking with contradictory orders! Yet people still had trouble [cont.]

  • [cont from prior comment] with the game. I had trouble with it! At least, I did until I got good at it through practice.

This happens in any normal multiplayer game--people suck at it at first, and then the community grows good players and everybody takes for granted that you can become skilled. But Sacrifice was so weird, I guess, that most people just fixated on that first phase, where they didn't understand it yet--and hardly anybody became skilled at it.

Too bad, cuz it was great.

  • Is this an RTS?

  • Yes.

You're playing a character from behind, third person.

    Has roleplay elements and rts.

You're casting spells to create creatures, build structures or attack.

    It's an awesome game.

Played it long ago, when it came out.

Still have it, but maybe I'll buy it again?

  • yes it is, it blends third person control of the units and rts stuff, it was an awesome game

  • It has aged well.
